    Miniseries

A young boy—the heir to the title of Count Dooku—is kidnapped, and it’s Jahan Cross to the rescue!

When the kidnapper turns out to be a sexy female spy with whom Cross has worked before, and when her motives turn out to have the boy’s welfare at heart, Cross is faced with a decision: should he disobey his own orders from the Empire?

But first there’s a little matter of breaking out of a supposedly inescapable prison . . .

Hm, that HRD on the cover certainly raises a few questions. [face_thinking]

Well, if she hadn't been female, I'd have accused 'him' of trying to make up for something...

I am really curious which group does the female spy belong. It could be rebel but Ostrander might suprise us.

Why would any of these want to help a little boy?

The female looks a lot like Mara is depicted in the TTT comics, but she would be too young here. Same with Shira Brie. Was Roganda Ismaren a redhead?

Plus, wasn't she more into courtly politics then direct spy actions?

And interesting to see the HRD on the cover... wonder how she gets back into things considering the last time we saw her in Iron Eclipse.

Well since we also have her inventor on the cover, my guess is he rebuild her.

An IN-GA 44 2.0? Possible... though depends whether he actually retrieved the old one and cleared the Iron Eclipse from her or whether her inventor made a new version. I mean, would Imperial Intelligence be bothered to waste resources on a lone droid? Even if it was an expensive HRD... unless of course Cross decides to go rogue for a short bit and get her but can't see why yet for this arc but look forward to finding out.

Heh -- I was going to just move the post over to this thead, but I guess that'll do too.

    edit:
-Heh, so the Bothan Spynet uses humans too -- and presumably anybody else they'd find of use. That's sensible of them -- nice touch, John!

    - I also like the idea that the Spynet has a professional rivalry with ImpIntel.

    - The plot thickens -- they're taking the woman to some native prison, and since Cross is operating as an envoy, he can't do anything about it... officially anyway. I like the nuance here: the Empire isn't supposed to be a monolith, and even though we're used to seeing people like Vader do as they please, more run of the mill Imperial officials have to go through channels and are sometimes frustrated by locals who aren't impressed by their high falutin' credentials.

All in all, it's lookin' like another great issue of AotE.

Vex is truly vexing :D Cool character and nice female foil. Very different from the lady in the previous arc. And again, love the world building for Serreno in the last issue and looks like this one will continue that so excellent stuff!

Was kind of hoping that she was going to be imprisoned in The Box...

Great preview, for what's shaping up to be a great second arc for the best series the EU has going so far.

Another fun issue and Cross is indeed a retired Navy Commander like Bond. :D
