I suspected when they killed Chewie; it was confirmed what they killed Anakin, and everything since then has just been throwing dirt in the Del Rey grave.

You're doing better than me, though. I haven't read a book since SbS was released. I've spoiled myself for all the major stuff, Jacen turning dark, Mara dying, Jacen's illegitimate child... did I miss anything? Why don't they stop trying to be better than the fans and just start recruiting fan fiction writers? Even the Mary Sue obsessed ones can create better story lines. *sighs*

I'll third that, Kidan. Why don't you make one up?

I'm always up for light drama laced with humor.

Another different genre challege? 1930s Gangster era?

Edit: okay, maybe not. But I'm always open to be challenged. What madness could we get these two into?

    Base jumping?

    Book club?

    Romantic coupon book?

    high speed chase?

escape with one of the two injured?

breaking the news of the marriage to the parents?

    dialogue infused with innuedo?

Or, how about the A/T and absurdity challenge. Get really wacky!

    just a few ideas...

    I'm here.
It's definitely been way to quiet around here though lately.
Maybe we'll see traffic pick up a bit once people finish reading
Outcast since we know that's what they'll be doing all this week!
I know a new book always gets my writing/posting juices flowing.

And we DO need a new challenge!

I know you all know Tahi here, and I thought you should know her husband passed away very unexpectedly the day before yesterday. I know she could use your support and prayers.

I just want to say thanks so much to all of you here - TSF, tahiriveilax, Jedi Trace, Gabri_Jade and G_Anakin - and also all the people who PMed and emailed me for your kind thoughts and support. I and my family are very humbled and grateful. [:D]

I'd like to share this poem with you. I wrote it for my husband's funeral and we printed it in the order of service. The funeral directors - who were fantastic - managed to print it over an image of a barrel, because my husband's business involved turning wine barrels into garden planters and furniture. A lot of people knew him as "The Barrelman". He was on the road a lot, and died at his sister's place while on a short trip to deliver some planters.

He was what you might call a character - very energetic, a hard worker, could be stubborn and difficult, especially when it came to authority and bureaucracy (ask any traffic cop in NZ and they would probably know him as the annoying guy who always managed to argue his way out of traffic fines!) - but was intensely proud of his kids and grandkids and did everything with them in mind. He was also a man who enjoyed helping people, and never expected anything in return.

He left home on the morning of Tuesday April 14th and died that night.

    Incomparable
    (For Chris)

You left on Tuesday in your normal rush -
places to be, people to see,
    following the road which was
as usual your home from home,
the white line the only convention
    you?ve never argued against.

You left on Tuesday. It seemed
    so ordinary . . . that perhaps
    we should have known you?d
    surprise us; ordinary, after all,
    has never been your way.
But even so, when they said
    you wouldn?t be coming back
    it seemed wrong, somehow.

You always came back. You were
    the indestructible one, indefatigable ?
you grabbed life by the scruff of its scrawny neck
and shook it until it turned it into a vast canvas
of technicolour possibilities ? quirky, compelling,
    unequivocally yours.

You left on Tuesday in your normal rush ?
but not so fast that you didn?t have time
to leave a footprint, too vibrant,
too colourful to fade. We see it
in the memories of those who loved you,
in the personalities of your children ?
    your inheritance, your challenge
    to the world. Uniquely Chris.

Oh my gosh, Tahi I'm so sorry for your loss,
and that my condolences are so late. I was so busy, but if I had known I would send them immediately.

I hope things will be better again someday. I just want you to know you are a wonderful person and deserve nothing but good things. And I wish you the best for your future.

I don't mean to be rude, but I was also hoping we could get a new challenge up and running, so we can see some more A/T fics.. ?

Hi, I can't suggest something so organized like the last one
    but how about:

Since we know Tahiri decides to be a bounty hunger, just write something like:
Casebook of Tahiri Veila. series of short stories detailing her exploits as bounty hunter.
    Novel length works also allowed.

    I think that's a good idea :) I was thinking maybe something that's pre-NJO, maybe something with a little romance :) I love A/T romance [face_love]

    As for Romance...
pre NJO, this couple is only like 9 years old?
so maybe have something like this: for this challenge, we scrap NJO, and have it at 28-30 ABY but with New Republic Era background. Maybe come up with some non Vong enemies?

but what about for this challenge we come up with OC and set up this love triangle...

edit: you'll notice the words bounty hunger above, I'm so not editing that post.

Haha, I meant it as separate ideas :) But I love your idea! OC love triangle, that sounds like a good challenge, and Non Vong enemies. Also, no dead Anakin Solo, breaks my heart to think about it.

A while ago I started rewriting Sleeping Beauty to fit Star Wars and fit Anakin and Tahiri. So Tahiri would be the Princess and Anakin the Prince. I've been playing with this idea for a while now, I just haven't had the time to actually write what I wanted to.

But it's a neat idea, me thinks. Choose a certain part from your favorite fairy tale and use Anakin and Tahiri. Just a small part, nothing big.
Majorly AU, a whole lot of mush and a whole lot of fun.
