    Yes, I love it! The more tragic, the better.

    My favorites are Madama Butterfly, Rusalka, Pagliacci and Wagner's Ring cycle. I've had season tickets to the Seattle Opera for the past 4 years and luckily, only live blocks from McCaw Hall. :D

    Next season I'll finally be seeing Don Giovanni and La Boheme. [face_dancing]

    I don't claim to be especially knowledgeable about the subject, but I do love opera. [face_love] I think my favorite opera is Cherubini's Medea. I have a recording with Maria Callas in the title role, and it's magnificent. :D

    I don't care for it that much. The problem is I never got into it, so if something's so so SOOOOO foreign it's hard getting into it.

    I voted for "Yes, but only modern opera like Phantom, Il Divo, Les Miserable)". Phantom of the Opera is one of my first and most passionte interests. But I would rather call it a musical than an opera.

    When it comes to older, more traditional ones, I often enjoy the instrumental parts. They can have truly wonderful melodies. But I just can't abide the singing.
