This is the ONLY place within the Richmond boards to post events going on OUTSIDE of RICHMOND.

If you know of a STAR WARS related Convention, please feel free to post details (Official link to information, dates, times, STAR WARS related guests, ticket prices). If the event is NOT STAR WARS related, please contact the CR to find out if it belongs here.

IF the STAR WARS Related event is WITHIN RICHMOND, Please feel free to start a thread with the above information and anything else you know about it that the group would be interested in.

As always, if you have questions, please let me know :)

    HOTEL:
Balticon will be held at the Wyndham Baltimore (formerly Omni) Inner Harbor Hotel. Room rates are $123, plus applicable tax for up to four occupants. Members should make their reservations directly with the hotel by calling (410) 752-1100 or by calling toll free, 1-800-WYNDHAM. Even better use the on-line booking link below. On May 5, 2005 our guaranteed block of rooms is opened to the general public and Balticon members are then in a race to get the room first. Usually on the cutoff date the hotel database lists the Balticon rate as unavailable until we can get the system reset, if this happens wait a day and try to reserve again. After the 5th it is likely rooms will be available for some time and then suddenly dry up with intermittent availability popping back into the system if someone cancels, hence, try a couple of times to make a reservation over a few days. When you call the hotel, remember to tell them that you are a member of Balticon to get the convention rate.

If fate prevents you from attending Balticon, call at least 3 days prior to your arrival date to cancel and you won't be charged. You can use your credit card to guarantee your reservation with confidence because the hotel can't charge your card until your arrival date. In the past Balticon members booked so late we lost rooms to others. If you are told the hotel is full or you have any other hotel problem e-mail dale@balticon.org because the hotel database has been wrong and required our contacting the hotel in the past.

    On-Line Hotel Registration:
Use this link for the Wyndham and change the dates on the form to those you want a room at Balticon. Fill in the number of people and Wyndham-by-request number if you have one. At the bottom of the form there is a text input box labeled group code. Enter the group code "0525463BAL" if m

To let those know, Ravencon 2006's hotel is changed. It's the Doubletree Inn at the Richmond Airport 5501 Eubank Road Sandston, Virginia 23150
Double Rooms are $84 per night Contact the Doubletree Inn at 804-226 6400 for reservations. Holiday Inn Koger Center screwed up badly and let's just say a sales manager there got fired for overbooking events. And we couldn't get the date wanted,e xcept one, and the author GOH had there for a New York con at that date. Check http://ravencon.com for link to hotel. Also it's $20 for the weekend by September 30, 2005.
