Most of the TOTJ crew were students at BYU at one time.

My wife lived in Heritage Halls when we were dating. ;)

Heritage is a nice place to live while going to BYU. It's VERY close to campus.

As Handyman said, I'm a former BYU student who graduated last year. I never lived in the dorms, however.

    Hey Toran-Kal,

DT is a great place as well. It's just a little farther from campus than Heritage. DT has a cafeteria and a swimming pool where Heritage Halls doesn't. DT is also right next to the Mariott Center.

Well I'm probably going to be majoring in Computer Animation.

Spoo - you're going into film and multimedia aren't you?

    Anyone else?

I was up at BYU last summer for EFY. I stayed in Merrill Hall. Has anyone who has dormed there had a problem with the AC (which, I think, is very weak) in that building?

    Zats right Koran-Tal!

If I've got time later on I'll minor in computer programming or something.

There's this really awesome looking 3rd year course for stage fighting! I can't wait to take it, that'll be cool.

Only bad thing about taking film is that it prevents me from being in the Symphonic Band (I play trombone fairly well) because there's only one Symphonic Band time slot, and ALL of the intro to film choices are during that slot (I guess we go into the auditorium and watch a movie)

Anyway, enough of my incessant rambling! ;)

    Nnnnnnnooooooo!!!!!!
Symphonic Band is at the same time as Intro to Film? CRAP!! I play the clarinet and I was planning on taking band too. I haven't had a chance to look at the schedule yet, but I'll have to. Is symphonic band the one that you don't have to try out for? That's probably what I'd end up in.

That is cool that we're both taking intro to film though. I have to have that for my major too.
And maybe we'll be in band together too.

...OK I've got to stop talking too.

By the way spoo - what time slot do you think you'll be taking for intro to film?

    Toran-Kal (sorry for misspelling earlier)

I've got intro to Film Tuesdays 1-3 (all of them are in that time slot) and fridays 10-12.

I just hope that stuf works out so I own't have to rearrange my hwoe schedule, this took me a while to plan things out.

Yeah, teh symphonic Band thing sucks, but I know for certain it requires an audition. (according to my brother in law (a trombone major) I'm good enough to get first chair!)
It's actually a 3rd year course, maybe I'll be able to take it later...

Instead I'm taking Brass Choir, so unless you switch instruments I guess I'll never see ya in band!

Are you any good? What stuff have you guys played?

(To everyone else): Keep talking, don't let us steal the conversation =)

    Spoo and Toran-Kal,

Have you considered joining the Cougar Marching Band? The hours are 4:30-6:00pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. You receive a scholarship, get to go to all the home football games and some away games.

Not to mention the spify uniform. ;)

I've already got a full scholarship, thanks. :D

And I hate marching band music. It's an American thing (luckily), we don't have to put up with it much over here. :)

My sister was in it for a year, and warned me against joining it.

    DarthJago: It's the best instrument!

As far as marching band goes - I'm also warning you against joining it. Two years of it in high school is bad enough, especially when I was section leader. And I also have a full scholarship so I'm not too worried about that part of it.

Hey we're doing pretty good to actually get off the subject of star wars for a while. Keep it up. :)

So is it just spoo and me that are heading to BYU this fall?

I guess so... Andakin is still in high school, and I think most of the others are older (TotJ crew).

Oh well, we'll get more people involved.
We need to plan a BYU fanfilm, especailly if we can find fans among the film students!

We definitely need to plan a film. From what I've heard they have an awesome studio that students can use. (Bluescreen, cameras...everything!)

I know a guy that's down there right now doing fan film stuff. He'll be graduating in the spring, but he said he'd like to do something before he's done.

So plan on it!! I'm sure we'll also be able to find other people too.

    Sweeeeeet...

I'm SO looking foreward to filmmaking!
I want to dive straight into it as soon as I get there!

Toran, (and others in the area!) we need to start workon a script now, something that would be believable to have a bunch of poeple our are in it (we've got adults around too, but it has to have a reason for us).

Did anyone read any of the Young Jedi Knights novels? Perhaps we could use a plotline from there (just make sure it isn't one that directly involves Luke Leia or Han...)

Also, what I've been dying to see is a film of the IG-88/Boba Fett battles (if you haven't read Tales of the Bounty Hunters, go read it!)

I gotta go, it's late here

I also want to get started right away.

I hate to say it, but I haven't read very many of the Star Wars books.
But that might be ok because I'm not much of a script writer to begin with. I've done one and its pretty good, but not as good as it could be.

I could help with ideas for it, but I can't write it. Just let me know what you want and I'll think of ideas. (Dang! That sounded like I just repeated myself about 4 times)

    Anyway...uh...yeah!!
