on becoming official and choosing your first CR, rodan70. May the force be with you as you share a common love of Star Wars!

    What's a CR (chapter rep)?

CR's have essentially replaced what are known as moderators. A moderator is responsible for maintaining their online forum. However, a CR transcends this role because they are also responsible for representing their chapter and its interests.

A CR must be a leader -- capable of organizing and supporting their entire chapter. A CR is elected by the members of a chapter. However, if a group has not yet become a recognized chapter, they may still elect someone to represent them and their interests until said group becomes official.

Simply put, a Chapter Representative of a chapter is that Chapter's liaison to Fanforce. They act as a liaison between their members and both myself, and the rest of Fanforce administration. If your members have a problem, they will contact you, and you in turn will present the issue to the rest of administration.

CRs are also the "moderator" of their chapter forums. While you cannot directly edit/delete lock threads yourselves, you are required to report to your RSA any foul language you see posted, any baiting/flaming/spamming going on in your forum, or any other type of behavior which is against the TOS.

For safety and legal reasons, a CR must be at least 18 years of age. Generally a CR is elected by a club at their third official meeting. Once elected, you will be given access to Chapter Reps private forum. Here you will be able to discuss with the other chapter reps around the world, various issues affecting your chapter. You will find the CR forum to be filled with helpful ideas on how to make your chapter grow and be the best it can be. You will also become a VIP of fanforce, and your username colors will be changed to blue, and you will receive a title. All CRs have a blue username so that users can quickly discern who the CR is for that chapter, thus so they know who the "go to" person is for their chapter.

Generally, the Chapter Rep is also the "President" of the club, and also runs the monthly fanforce meetings. However, fanforce does not dictate how clubs wish to structure themselves at all. A few chapters have both a President and CR. The President would lead the meetings and be the "Go to" person OFFLINE, and the CR would merely be the club's online representative. Other clubs have a leadership council where three or more people have equal say on how the club is run. There still needs to be one person however who is appointed as CR, so that we have one contact person from each club. The other officers that you elect at your third meeting all receive titles as well (Co-Chapter Rep, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, Graphics Designer, Meeting & Events Coordinator... basically you can assign people to any officer position that your club needs).

When choosing a Chapter Rep, make sure you choose someone who you think is responsible enough to represent your chapter and its members. Chapter Reps are held to a higher standard, and must obey the Chapter Rep Code of Conduct.

If you have any questions regarding the above, please let me know and I will do my best to clarify things for you.
