I had kinda wanted to do something on Utapau, but decided against it because I couldn't find good "start" and "end" points. At least by doing this room I'll be a little more "constrained" but still be able to add lots of detail.

    Another great pick!
BTW: There's a load of great texture reference for the floors in the "Art of" book for EPIII.

You've already got some nice details in the table there.
    Looking forward to this one.

    Have fun!

was going to do this one myself, but I decided on Palp's Office in the end. Nice work so far. I like the level of detail. Will you be texturing?

Very nice. What method do you use to bevel your floors?

I always start with a plane. After some slices I just extrude and chamfer edges. Then I remove "excess" edges and polys to end up with something like this:

Humm, how do you cut the diagonals to match up with each other. I can never control it. Now, are you using slice, or something called cut?

I use slice or more often quickslice. Be sure your vertex and rotation snaps are on ('a' and 's' keys).

Here is my final entry for the competition.

I couldn't allocate the time to finish the control panels, but I'm fairly happy with the rest and feel it's pretty accurate.

    Modeled by Craig S. Underwood.
Using 3ds Max 8, lit with GI Light Tracer.
    128, 214 pologons.

Wow... looks good. I didn't notice but there sure is a lot of detailing work in this room. Hopefully you'll be able to finish it. I love location work. I think we should do EP3 locations again.. give people a chance to finish some of these. I'd like to see if we could give more prizes too.
