    Okay here's a recent addition to my costume wardrobe that I'll be breaking out for CV--a Corran Horn/Corellian Pilot uniform. In the Rogue Squadron books it mentions in addition to having a CorSec green detailed X-Wing and R2 (Whistler), Corran wears a green flight suit.
    "He wanted the sun at his back as he moved, and once again was pleased that he wore a dark green flight suit, not the bright orange most of the squadron's other pilots wore." (Isard's Revenge)

    Here's an artist's rendition from one of the Star Wars RPG source books...
    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/jedimika/Costuming/413px-Hobbie-Corran-Atlas.jpg]

    and here's mine...
    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/jedimika/Costuming/243.jpg]

    This will probably do it for costumes before CV unless my seamstress comes through with a last minute save for me on another pilot related outfit. I still have to put together my X-Wing helmet kit and decide on a paint scheme. Hopefully I'll get started on that real soon.

    Mika, you are one sharp looking costumer, that's for sure. Coran Horn huh? The character is very novel, and that green flight suit will no doubt get you lots of picture requests. I can see the fans now, "Green Flight Suit"? "Woe! Gotta Have A Pic Of That"! I know "I" want one. [face_batting]

    Here is my most recent upgrade to my costume. This makes four changes for me, and I'm working on a red battle under suit.

    I don't know if these will show up very well, or even pop up at all. I've loaded two other image links for them to download, and this is the last attempt. So, just in case, I've added the direct links:

    Me In My New Battle Undergarment. It is a top which has slitted shoulder straps and slitted tights.

    And a pic of me and Cyrin together. This is a shot of her, also in her own new battle gear.

    Finally got around to taking some pics of my progress. I still have some ideas on what I'm going to do with it(adding stripes, designs,etc.)The only thing I have left to do is add padding/visor to the helm. Make holsters for the guns, paint my rifle add scope/greeblies to it. Still deciding if I should go with velcro/rivets/screws for tacking the armor to the vest. Make a kama and either decide on using the backplate or going with a cape. OYA

    Hey all, my name is Megan and I'm a newbie! My best friend Darth Cyrin told me to come to this thread and introduce myself. I'm looking to join the Dark Empire, as an apprentice in Cyrin's ranks. I hope to be able to make my costume some time next month, when money permits, and look forward to sharing it with you when I do. So anyway, hi! *waves nervously*

    Figured I'd make this to show my progress for my trash can based Mandalorian beskar'gam.

    First of all, I took a standard kitchen trash can from Wal-Mart and put my stencils on, which I then traced.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0278.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0279.jpg]

    I then used a standard box knife to gut them out, being VERY careful. I suggest when doing this that you cut along the line, lightly leaving a shallow groove. Then go along that groove again, pushing it a little deeper. Continue until you're at least half way through the plastic before putting pressure on. This will ensure you get a straight cut along the line you're working on, and you'll keep your armor looking clean and even.

    Here's the armor cut out.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0283.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0424.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0556.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0425.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0425.jpg]

    Along side my armor, the vest was also prepared. All soft stuff, vest, kama, etc. is credited to my mother's help as I can't sew to save my life.

    Here's me in the vest and jumpsuit, first test fittings.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0322.jpg]

    And after my first coat of paint, what my armor looked on the vest.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0357.jpg]

    After that, various stages of the torso plates, neck armor and shoulder bells, being painted.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0367.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0368.jpg]

    And the final lay out.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/PICT0369.jpg]

    My neck armor is bolted onto the color of my jumpsuit.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/IMG_0245.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/IMG_0246.jpg]
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/azurejuggalo/costuming/IMG_0247.jpg]

    My shoulder bells had to be painted. Once they were finished, along with my back plate, I mounted them straight to the vest via bolts and eyelettes. Since then, I've actually added washes to help prevent tearing on the fabric around the eyelettes.

    Dar, your kit is bad shebs! I wish I would've gone that route with the trash cans. Instead I bought a precut kit off of ebay! I have already made other plates using trash cans, that'll be my version 2 kit. I'll work on it after CV. I like how you did the pauldron, I had a similiar idea, but I am too broad shouldered I think to wear one! OYA

    So many new costumes!!

    Mika- nicely done with the Corran/Corellian Pilot costume. I think I like the green better than the orange?very dashing and more unique!

    Jai-Rew-Sett- Excellent job man! I can?t wait to see it in person! The effort you?ve put into it really shows. Outstanding!

    Zannah and Cyrin- Awesome pictures! You?re gonna to WOW everyone at CV... and maybe scare some Jedi too.[face_worried]

    Dar- You've got some great ideas and an amazing costume. I hope I?ll get to meet you sometime.

    This is one of my many costume projects I?ve been working on, the Imperial Crew member, finally completed.

    For all you budget minded costumers this is the Imperial equivalent to the Rebel Legion?s Rebel Fleet Trooper costume, meaning a 501st approvable costume that won?t set you back 4 figures and is therefore a costume a lot of people use as their initial application into the 501st. Plus it?s one of the more comfortable Imperial costumes to troop in and it has pockets! which is rare in a 501st costume.

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/jedimika/Costuming/406.jpg]

    You can see it?s pretty simple, consisting of a black jumpsuit, belt, hat, boots and compad. The gloves (and sidearm if desired) are optional items. However, as with most costumes it?s the small details you need to pay attention to if you?re going for screen accuracy or putting this together just for fun.

    The same jumpsuit can be used for 3 different imperial costumes-imperial crew, tie pilot, and Death Star gunner?so it?s pretty versatile ; it?s basically the same jumpsuit for the rebel pilot just in black instead of orange. I just ordered this from Costume Base (discussed before) as it has the correct collar and pockets. Note the required Imperial Cog patches on the shoulders. These come with the jumpsuit from Costume Base but they?re the wrong size (too small) and color (silver instead of white) and can?t be used. It?s pretty easy to find a source for the correct patches and swap them out though.
    --$100 w/shipping from costume base
    --$6 for 2 patches

    Hat w/ imperial disk. I just used the hat from Costume Base and substituted a more accurate machined metal imperial disk from an online source.
    --$20 w/ shipping from costume base
    --$3 Imperial Disk plus shipping from Elvis Trooper

    The Belt and Buckle with Imperial Disk. Costume Base offers a buckle (and belt) but it?s not accurate and not 501st acceptable and you?re just better off putting your own together as it?s pretty easy.
    2? Belt blank-$15 from Tandy Leather
    2? rectangular Buckle blank--$4 from Tandy Leather
    Imperial disk--$3 plus shipping from Elvis Trooper

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/jedimika/Costuming/407.jpg]

    Com pad--$10 (unpainted) same as used for Rebel Pilot just painted different colors

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/jedimika/Costuming/398.jpg]

    Boots---black costume boots $50

    So the total is somewhere around $200-225 depending if you already have the black boots (used for many costumes as we?ve discussed) and would be significantly less if you were capable of sewing your own jumpsuit.

    So I applied to the 501st, submitted my photos and was accepted this last weekend. I am now 501st member IC 4460
