All right, kids, I'm open for suggestions for a December activity. I thought it might be nice for those who would be interested to go see Lord of the Rings together on December 19.

    Any other ideas?

idea: don't call us "kids" ;)

I'm seeing LOTR when I'm home with my dad & brother.
Also, most of us being poor, and that's during present buying season, I'm not sure if a costly activity would be such a good idea (maybe for some other time though!)

I want to see it on the 19th. I leave on the 20th. ::sighs.:: Darn finals!

    No kidding - stupid finals!!

Well it looks like the idea of LOTR didn't go over too well. I'm also going to see it when I go home. Sorry.

Are we even going to have time to do it before X-mas break starts? I mean I guess everyone else could do something, but you'd be missing at least 3 BYU students. :( I hope we can still do something though.

All right, as that's not going to work, what would you guys suggest? We could gather at my home for a film watching, or we could discuss some of the books that have come out recently (The New Jedi Order series?).

(Spoo, I refer to large groups of people as "kids" generally. Thanks for letting me know that you object. Now I get to come up with some other way to address you all....<eg>)

I'm open to ideas....as I'm new to this.

I like the EU discussion idea. What do y'all think?

Or a la coffeehouse, some weird jazz music and fanfiction?

I like the EU idea. I've been trying to talk to some people about them but of course my friends don't read Star Wars.

I don't know that anything much can be organised for December this late; 'twould be nice to enjoy the season as well, and have a bit of a Christmas party (complete with White Bantha gift exchange!).

I agree with the White Bantha Exchange.....when would be we able to get everyone here for a gathering? I'd say the beginning of next week, as schools start their winter breaks toward the end of next week. Any comments from the BYU crowd?

Depends on what the date is. My family for some reason has decided to have Christmas parties this year and I have a wedding to set up and take down on the 20 and 21.

I leave on the 20th at 3 p.m. for Boston and won't be back until January 14, whereupon I have 2 days before I enter the MTC.

Although the others have said it already: finals.

I really can't afford to give up any time untli after my exams, and I'm going home the evening after my last one, so... see you all in January! (Except T-K, I'll see him in Film class)

All right, as it seems that the majority of our group will be occupied elsewhere as of next week, I think we should skip an activity this month and have a belated Christmas party next month. Comments?

That sounds fine. I'd love to do something... but I'm releasing my film in 2 weeks, and am quite swamped.

I also have a concert on the night of the 19th. I think it would be fun to discuss the EU, though. I follow the NJO closely. It's too bad "Bob" died in the last one, though!

It's not Bob; it's Jimmy. Well, I guess this means I'll see you guys in 18 months. God speed and MTFBWY.

    Good luck to you.

And I think you will need this more than us - May the Force be with you, Kathryn.

It's so cool to see someone go out into the world and teach people about the message of Jedi. How the Force can bring peace into our lives. Hey, in the JTC make sure to try to be in Brother Kenobi's class.

Hopefully we'll be able see you again in 18 months!
