FF:NZ ** Episode II Figures!! **

I checked Hunters Plaza this morning. No Ep 2 figures, but they did have some Ep 2 lego: Tusken Attack with Anakin on swoop and sand people, and Jedi Duel with an extremely inaccurate Yoda and Dooku.

They also had the Vanity Fair with the AOTC cover. The only thing I got was a copy of the Phantom Menace novelisation for 0.51c

Will go to Manukau Warehouse and Whitcoulls after I eat.

 

My Episode II figures were pre-ordered from Iconix in Hastings, so all I had to do was complete the order this morning - they should arrive by Friday.

PLUS, I might just have missed the new Visa bill, so I'll have two months to pay for them.

Still going to check a couple of local Warehouse branches just in case some were missing and to see if there's any vehicles, etc. about.

 

Newmarket Toyworld has a near complete selection of Ep2 figs (and some new "classic" figs).

Most figs are $19.95, though some deluxe ones with flipping bases & the like are a bit more pricey. They have vehicles for the figures; Zam's speeder, Anakin's speeder, Jedi Starfighter and also a Reek.

In the LEGO range, they have the Speeder Chase, Jedi Starfighter, Dooku vs Yoda & Anakin Swoop. The technic droids & Slave 1 coming next month (or did he say week, I forget). No sign of the giant Gunship, so I suspect that's coming with the Slave 1 / Technic shipment.

Sure I had an empty wallet, but my Visa halped me walk away with the Yoda/Dooku & Anakin / Tusken lego sets.

Those sandpeople are so cute!

 

Warehouse downtown had nothing, going to try Airport one later, but looks like Toyworld maybe the place to go

 

The warehouse at Manukau has a big Ep 2 display ring.
They've got all the figures for $16.99 each.
They had the Reek (you can try out the roaring noise ), but I saw no sign of Anakin's speeder.
They've got Anakin's lightsaber and Dooku's lightsaber for $69.95.

At Manukau toyworld they had Bespin Luke with removable hand and bespin Vader ... saw no sign of them at the Warehouse.

I picked up Anakin. He comes with a box, and when you wave his hand over it, it's supposed to spring open. His gun is also supposed to spring into his hand, but it only works from about 1mm away. I don't know if I got a faulty one, or if I demagnetised it, or what.

Oh, and his lightsaber 'retracts' up his sleeve. LOL.
He's cute though

Kmart in St.Lukes has 'em
So does the warehouse in Balmoral. (Well not too many any more..........) Kmart seems to have the best selection. I got Anakin Hangar Duel, Count Dooku and Mace Windu (Genonisan Rescue) an Yoda there. They didn't seem to have those anywhere else.

It seems none of the books have been released yet. I checked Whitcoulls on Queen Street, Borders and Dymocks in the Atrium. The lady said she has no idea when they are coming in. She says apparently its pretty hush hush. I told her that they had been release in Aussie and she said..."Oh well thats because the movies been released over there....." Obviously she has no idea what shes talking about.....if anyone else has success with books please post....ooh and The Graphic Novel will be avaliavle from Heroes for Sale on K'Rd this Friday....

 

Yeah, I had no luck with the books either.

I saw them all today, apart from Jar Jar, Yoda, Anakin(hangar duel).

 

I got a padme today the arena escape one and the guy at the central toyworld in Wellington gave me a poster with all of the figures on it that are out so far so thats cool i can keep track of the ones i need to get. But they had heaps there

 

I didn't see nearly that many figures, and I went through three stores that had stock in. But I did find and buy an Anakin (Hangar Duel). Pretty cool

Also got deluxe Obi-Wan, Jango, and Obi-Wan's lightsaber. Woohoo!

 

*drools* I want a lightsaber!

 

Anyone got any news on the books.....??
Another thing why the hell does New Zealand not even have an online book store....This country is becoming more primitive.....I swear............

 

I guess Auckland is alright. South Island, that I'm not sure.

 

FlyingPig were the only online nz bookstore
til they went bust..shame really, they were pretty good with Star Wars stuff

I neve noticed they went down. I've never and probably won't in the near future, shop on the internet.

EDIT: I just remembered I bought CDs with my mum's credit card twice on the net.

 

It seems weird that we have the toys yet the book stores can't even give a release date!!

 

To be honest I don't give a hoot about the book...I *will* see the movie first, then if I got bored I'll read the book. I haven't read the novelisation of ANH, ESB or ROTJ either. Don't really see the point in doing that.

 

Well, they do sometimes give more insight to characters etc. Although technically that is EU...

Also got a few more scenes etc. I quite like them. Anakin's thoughts at the end of ROTJ are a nice touch.

 

I gotta admit i felt embarrased buying action figures the store owner laughed at me like a geek

 

I do read the EU, just not the "movie" books.

 

Ive only seen one book around thats the one before attack of the clones

the books are just way too expensive for me to buy now and i miss reading them

 

Just to to Borders, get a book, find a nice seat in a corner, and read it. It might not work for the big adult fictions but I just read JA #13 today. Took me about 1 hour and 40 minutes. And no-one kicked me out.
