Interior: Obi-Wan?s chamber

Obi-Wan closes the door as Anakin turns to face him.

Anakin
"What is it, Master. You seem upset."

Obi Wan
?I have been to see Master Yoda to discuss your advancement.?

This does not please Anakin. He is thinking about he and Padme's secret.

Obi Wan
?Master Yoda feels you are hiding something from the Jedi Council, Anakin. I am your master. If there is anything holding you back from committing yourself fully to the Order, I must know.?

Anakin stares hard into Obi Wan?s eyes, deciding.

Anakin
?You are right, Master. There is something holding me back. But it is something I am unwilling to give up.?

Obi Wan's eyes grow wide as he feels the depth of Anakin's emotion wash over him in a powerful wave of Force.

Obi Wan
?Padme.?

Anakin
?Yes, Padme. We have been married these last four years.?

Obi Wan
?Married! Anakin! Do you realize what you have done? The years of training?the people who are counting on you! YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE! You know the Order will not let you throw that away on a romantic whim. We need you!?

Anakin
(angrily)
?Well, I need her! My God, Obi-Wan! Can you not understand? She was my only light in those dark hours after my mother?s death. I cannot...No!...I WILL NOT live my life without her!?

Obi Wan
?They will not let you leave the Order.?

Anakin
?They will have no choice.?

Anakin turns to leave.

Obi Wan
?Anakin, listen to me! You are throwing your life away!?

Anakin
?She is my life.?
