What do you think the movie rating will be for the next installment in the Star Wars saga?

I'm guessing PG-13, bordering on R. The movies have gotten progressively darker and more violent so far, and I'll bet the trend will continue. Plus, the battledroids all got deactivated in RotS, so any lightsaber action is going to have to involve killing humans. It might get gory.

I said PG-13. I mean ROTS really set a precedent, and now because of the Empire, I bet things get only more dark and violent.

And who wants to see a PG movie?

My younger siblings will hate me for this, but I hope they keep up the PG-13 trend. :D

yah, PG13. GL once said something about the rating stuff with his movies. I forgot what it was, but it sounded good, so I think he'll stick with that.

If they're going to destroy a whole planet, it's seriously going to have to be an "R." I mean, "Saving Private Ryan" got an "R," and they just killed off a bunch of soldiers in that one. They didn't blow up all of Normandy.

If they're going with a more "mature" audience, maybe we'll get to see Vader going around assassinating people, like in "Kill Bill." That would be kewl.*

*Not that Vader was actually in "Kill Bill." Tarantino tried, but the licensing agreement with LFL couldn't be worked out in time.

    G. RotS ended in such a soppy way I think it'll continue the trend.

    R. It's gonna be really violent. The Emperor's goons are gonna go on some crazy killing spree and enslave people. [face_worried]

    I went with 'R'.

These films have become progressively more violent with each episode.

Its gotta be darker than Ep III. I mean, you have Darth Vader now who killed younglings in the previous film What is he capable of now?

I hear that they'll be exploring how Vader can have a sex life while in that suit, so yeah, it'll be pretty heavy.

Also, there are rumors that the human on human violence will involve actual dismemberment, loss of arms, etc. That's got to get an R.

PG-13. I think ROTS is about as far as he's willing to go.

Looks like Lucas is getting more daring with each movie - over here, Eps1-3 went U, PG, 12A. Therefore, Ep4 = 15 = R.

    I'm thinking R...

The only real limit on violence is that there are only so many limbs you can lop off before someone runs out... Just ask Anakin Skywalker... All he has is his head...

I agree with others: Each of the films has gotten more violent, with more of that violence directed against humans. If the spoilers about killing a whole planet are true, then it has to be R.

PG-13. Now that RotS was PG-13, they can't go back now.
