    I sympathise, Addie! I had another 8 hour drive last night (taking nephew and family to his sister's again); but bright spots were the McD's Winter Warmer when I got them there, a couple of good DVDs and....a Star Wars T Shirt (Yipee!) with all the OT characters and 3 activated Lightsabers on the front! Not for wearing, methinks, I'll keep it pristine!

    When I got home (3am!) I found that Pa had not been able to get to sleep (chesty coughing) and just as I was tryng to nod off, he decides to head downstairs on the stairlift for a bowl of cereal, so fiinally got to close my eyes at 5am! Woken up again at 9 with a request for his morning cup of tea; then almost immediately out the door to do the weekly shop.

    What does your husband fish for, if I could ask? I used to do a bit of competetive angling myself (coarse fish) about 20 years ago:- still got my kit, but obviously need to be there for Pa in daytime nowadays.

    Whiting and Garfish I'm told. His parents own a holiday home over on the peninsula and he and his oldest mate headed over there to do a bit of male bonding and stuff. There are usually three of them but one opted out this year as his wife left him and he's got the kids. The trip isn't really for kids, although they took kids last year (I stayed home last year) and it wasn't very successful. Honestly I'm happy for him to go, just having him hang around the house for the three weeks he gets off would have me killing him in his sleep....or I might not even wait that long! :p

    Whiting and Garfish are (at least) edible -- unlike what I used to dip a line for! Don't know if it holds true for your Gars, but ours have green bones after cooking (so I'm told)! Anyway, get your feet up and relax -- if the family'll let you! ;)

    The guys 'smoke' them and the meat peels off the bones, but the bones dont go green from memory. One year they caught over 60 of them, a feast that night!
