I just got to the Arclight here in Hollywood, about to see Lincoln with my brother & a mutual friend. Such be a great film.

Man I haven't posted in like 3 days due to work. This forum kind of moves fast. Def not used to that.

 

*** 1/2 out of **** for Lincoln impeccable, impeccable acting, enthralling story (with a lot of it holding relevance today, especially with the Presidential election just happening) & some fine (though not 100% perfect) directing from Spielberg. Naturally on the way out (the movie ending just before midnight), the entire theater/lobby was swamped for those seeing the finale of the Twilight series.

Busy agenda today; house-cleaning, cookie-baking, returning library books, and packing preparation for the Utah trip.

I'm hoping to see Lincon this weekend, seeing as how I'm pretty sure I can't get tickets to see Skyfall in IMAX.

 

Bazinga'd: I didn't give Lincoln four stars because I felt the ending was a bit rushed, and there could have been a little more about certain aspects of the Civil War.

 

I would say so... and Tommy Lee Jones ought to get a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance as Thaddeus Stevens. One of the highlights of the film.

 

I've been watching the ceremony for/unveiling of Kareem Abdul Jabbar's statue (in front of the Staples Center) for the past hour, and it's been wonderful to watch/experience.

 

What a great few weeks... a new Star Wars trilogy is in the works... a new Mass Effect 3 DLC is coming out (Glad we get to go back to Omega!) and they just announced that a Mass Effect 4 is in the works!

 

I have a bit of a runny nose after working out in the cold today. I took a swipe at it with my hand and felt something on my face. So I grabbed a tissue and swiped again, removing the small amount of mucus dripping from my nose. Moments later, despite my nose not running, I took another swipe with my hand, I guess out of habit. I felt the same thing I felt the first time, only this time I felt more. It felt granular, like I had salt on my face. So I swiped again with the tissue. Moments later I once again swiped at my face with my hand and felt the same thing. This time I grabbed another tissue and wiped at it really well, to make sure I got whatever it was. I felt with my hand and it was still there! GAH! WHAT IS ON MY FACE!? So I went to the bathroom to check it out in the mirror and it turns out it was about 24 hours worth of grainy mustache stubble, as I last shaved last night at about this time, instead of in the morning like I usually do.

 

LOL never shave at night, it's confusing your face.
