    It's not Star Wars, but...

I'm looking to attend the midnight release of the seventh Potter flick dressed as a Death Eater.

Anyone ever do this costume? I Googled it. I can't find any decent hi-def reference shots of the Death Eaters, and all tutorials I could find on the mask involve paper mache or plaster bandages, which seem far too rough to achieve the metallic look of the mask, to my knowledge. Basically I feel like the mask will make or break this one.

You can put a fine coat of wax to smooth out the paper mache'/bandages. Or resin if you have the time to sand it smooth. Then get some brush on silver or gold plating. There are waxes that have the metalic coloring in them, which you can then rough up to add the textures/patterning too.
It will take some experimenting (and probablly a couple failures).

Other options are available, but can be very expensive & time consuming.
