    I don't know if this will have anysort of impact on anything but I know that the Mid-Ohio Comic Con is that weekend in Columbus. There is a decent size SW turn out for that. If it wasn't for that, I'd show up in my Fett suit.

    Kim Simmons, the photographer in charge of virtually all vintage Star Wars photography work at the outside design firm used by Kenner and who was ultimately responsible for images that would be used for packaging, comps (or mock-ups), some publicity images, and some of the slide presentations,has agreed to join us at this years JediCon WV.If you were fortunate enough to buy one of these prints from BRIANS' TOYS, or from Mr. Simmons website ( http://www.themanwhoshotlukeskywalker.com ) ,please bring it along and get it signed by the artist.

    Less than a month away,Hope to see you all there!!!

    JediconWV 2008 was an intersting show to say the least. We had some cool guests and the kids crafts were the big hit, thanks to Michele from SWAP.

    We learned a lot from this show of things to do, and not to do, next year. We will be starting early to plan for next years event. The date is set at October 10, 2009 so mark your calendars now!

    Enjoy!

    Darth Vader made an appearance!

    Some cool artwork by our friends at SWAP!

    [image=http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa116/Rebojazz/DSC02649.jpg]

    Plenty of vintage goodies.

    Jon Seay made another appearance. He is a former ILM empolyee who did animation on the original Star Wars A New Hope from back in the day.

    [image=http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa116/Rebojazz/DSC02640.jpg]

    Another guest was Kim Simmons from themanwhoshotlukeskywalker.com. He had a very interesting slide show on some of his works that I'll never forget.

    [image=http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa116/Rebojazz/StevenandKimSimmons.jpg]

    Kids crafts were the biggest hit of the show. Here are some kids building astromech droids.

    Here is Michele from SWAP helping kids at our craft table.

    My favorite were the lightsabers, here are a couple kids putting them to the test.

    [image=http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa116/Rebojazz/DSC02647.jpg]

    I did a discussion panel on the unlicensed toys of Star Wars from all over the world.

    [image=http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa116/Rebojazz/DSC02650.jpg]

    I had three display cases full of unlicensed toys, here is my display from Mexico.

    And, of course, here is our fearless leader Mike (big guy in orange) sorting out our raffle winners.

    Steven is SO right! Mistakes were made,lessons learned and we have grown from both.Over all a decent show,and we managed to raise over $1500 for Children's Miracle Network,the most for any one show we have done!!

    We are now gathering the troops for a debriefing and to discuss next years show ( Saturday October 10, 2009 )in length about changes and updates to what we want to do.If anyone here on the boards would like to attend the meeting,it will be on a Saturday between now and Thanksgiving ( awaiting to hear who and when from the other participants),when the day is set I'll post it on the boards.

    We are also doing an exhibit on May 16 2009 at the Toy and Train Museum called THE PHANTOM MENACE @ 10. Even though it's not actually 10 years old until May 19....but hey if George Lucas can start a movie series with #4 why can't we do this?There will be toys,protoypes,food promotions and store displays all on show!

    Any questions please feel free to PM or e-mail.Take care and as always MTFBWY!
