I want to point out what could be either a glaring error or just an interesting way of putting things in the very first original post in this thread.

BISMARK said that it should be "You and me. Mono y mono." I'm wondering if just perhaps what he meant was "mano a mano"? "Mano a mano" means "hand to hand", while "mono y mono" means "monkey and monkey". Of course, maybe that is what he meant, it certainly applies...
