ST JJ Abrams to direct Episode VII

Not going to say 100% until I hear a LFL announcement. Like I said, remember the Zack Snyder announcement and how quickly that one got shot down? It was confirmed by Variety and many other sites as well.

 

He's also a master of leaving other projects.

What projects has he dropped for others?

It is well known that he was never going to direct a third Trek - he and his team will produce from now on. It was surprising thast he directed the second - a sign of just how good the story is that he changed his mind.

 

The hunger will be greater once filming starts - Abrams will more secretive than ever.

All I can say is the Star Trek movie he did was awesome & Into Darkness even looks better , Super 8 was cool too.....If he can get the tone of Star Trek over to Star Wars then we will be in for a great Star Wars film.....One thing about Abrams he will definenately push hard for the Big 3 to come back although Bill Shatner didn't come back for his Star Trek Leonard Nimoy did so I have big hope there .

So bottom line Abrams is a dam good director....He may not be everyones first choice but a good choice none the less .

This is the BEST NEWS I've heard since, well, since I heard they were making Episode VII!
I've always enjoyed Abrams' work, and he's a fan, so this could be epic (for me).

 

The only thing that makes me believe this might be true is they said we would get some news in January, and January is almost over. I know I watched Super 8, but I don't remember much about it, that's how forgettable it was. The fact that he was involved with Star Trek leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I just hope he gets rid of a few bad habits.

1. Lens flares
2. Time travel
3. Shaky cam

 

Holy crap. That's as close to official as we've seen.

I am the ONLY not buying this yet. TheForce.net and other are acting like this is OFFICIAL news but its just a website reporting it. much like that Zack Synder rumor last week that was nothing. Well he said it was nothing.

 

What's wrong with lens flares? It's a legit style.
