Spok, WA ~ Let's get ourselves known ~

The best way for others to know that we are in existance is with advertising. What better way to advertise than with a Spokane FF icon?

I've never made icons before, but if I can figure out why it keeps resizing my pics when I upload them, I might be able to come up with some fun ones to choose from.

This is one I did a few minutes ago, but it is not yet the right size.

What Planet or Location Does SPokane Most Resemble to You???

 

That's a question I will have to think on. What's your take?

 

Well if there was a bright center to the universe we may be in the city that is furthest from it...

Tatooine itself doesn't feel qutie right, maybe the cantina... but Surely there are Other Aspects. I Can See Both Hoth and Endor Being Reasonable Choices Astheticlly.

But I WOuld Rather Capture the Personality of Spokane than it's Appearance...

 

Ever consider Abregado-Rae or Chandrila or Corellia or Sacorria? They each have elements that remind me of Spokane.

 

Ooo, I like the Endor idea, with the forests, etc. Maybe get some photos in a local park?

I'm a graphic designer by trade, and I was planning on making us a website to link to our forum, just like every other forum.

I was also thinking that to boost our member numbers, we should do some kind of small advertising at the local colleges. There have got to be some star wars fan in the area and that age group especially (I think...)

Just another thought, do you think that Dathomir would work for Spokane? I'm just asking because I own dathomir.com and could make our FF website like http://fanforce.dathomir.com/ or http://outpost.dathomir.com/ etc. ???

I am more than open to any ideas you guys have or seeing you guys make ones as well. The concepts of the ones I have right now are too hard(or sound too corny) to explain so I will just have to show you them.

Getting better, but you've still got a "red on red" problem going on that I forgot to mention before... oops
In the meantime, here's another one of my Ideas, taking the Spokane landscape into consideration.

I'm still fine tuning it... oh, and for anyone who's curious the dimentions for the widescreen icons (which are the coolest IMHO) are 30x90 that's a 1:3 ratio.

I could also do maybe a sunrise instead of a sunset... throw me ideas.

Ok, here's a third version done with a "sunrise" gradient, I also added a border to it, and I also gave the previous versions borders.

Keep in mind that these could be used for anything, any size, because they are Illustrator files, and are infinetly resizeable. So we could also use these for things like business cards, posters, displays or the website, just to name a few...
