    :) Props. Let's try again:

One, just one movie with a budget over $50,000 that is a true adaption of a work by H.P. Lovecraft.

I dunno, I kind of dislike the mainstreamification of Lovecraft's stuff. His work has already penetrated (heh) pretty much all science fiction and fantasy since the sixties. I see no reason to make straight adaptations of his stories.

I have read "Best of" Lovecraft. Quite frankly they are interesting but overrated.

Oy. There's already such a big risk there that if too many people have their hand out they might just say to heck with it :( .

The best part? None of them get along. Macross is the only series I can think of whose distribution rights arguments can be summed up with a scene from The Godfather Pt. II.

    Abarat, by Clive Barker.

There've been rumors and talks of a movie for a few years now but it always falls flat. Abarat really could be the next great epic series..

Although one part of me is scared the movie would be nothing like the book.

    The REAL Bram Stoker's Dracula.

    The REAL Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

    A Werewolf of London remake.

I would love a film series faithful to Iain Banks' Culture books.

A few years ago Dacre Stoker, yes, related to Bram Stoker, wrote a Dracula sequel that was awesome called Dracula The Un-dead. It failed to pursure a certain avenue but was great as is and would make a good film.

I haven't read it because I don't want it to influence my almost-finished novel, which is Dracula-related. What gives the notion it would make a good movie?

I would have a hard time expalining without spoiling. It is really well written and the death scenes in this are epic.

VadersLaMent, I've heard mixed reviews for The Un-Dead, but I'm intrigued by the idea. From what little I've heard of the plot it's totally different from what I'm doing, which makes me curious to read it, but again I don't want it to influence me so I've stayed away.

I think if I read a summary from a fan of the book (rather than a critic) I might get a little more out of it. PM me if you feel like it.

Again I hesitate for spoiler reasons. Let's just say there are character changes that people had a problem with. I do understand. I have empathy. But damn this book is good enough. The problem is that the major change makes so called Dracula experts want to dismiss it as fan fiction rather than accept it.
