New Policy on Religious Threads

First off the Satanic verses aren't a religion. It was a book written primarily to insult Muslims, and from the reaction Rushdee got I'd say it achieved its goal.

I'm NOT for treating Christianity as the only important religion here and I don't think anyone is. Let me give an example of what I am opposed to: a small handful of users starting a plethora of quote threads specifically to show off, or attempting to annoy Christians. I have no problem with other beliefs being expressed (I posted once in the Koran thread started by x_wing15) but I would be opposed to them being expressed in a spam-ish nature.

 

Padme Bra, you have made your point clear more than enough times. I am a "VVC" and I am not against the ban. I think it would do the JC some good to just "take a breather" from religious threads for awhile. After some time, maybe they can open up again, or have perhaps one moderated thread. For now, I would recommend closing THIS thread and ending the matter.

 

I'm not going to close the thread because someone will just make another one. I'm just not going to answer the same questions ad nausum anymore. So if you guys still want to discuss this, go ahead. Just know that a decision has been made and nothing said in this thead will change that. I relaize I sound like a total *, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Well, I'm opposed to a small handful of people creating bible threads in an attempt to annoy/convert fellow JJCers. Whats that? You say that isn't the prupose? Well, how do you know any other verse-by-verse/quteo threads are spam? They could be just as valid as a Bible thread.

And how is the Bible Verse-by-Verse thread NOT spam, as compared to other potential verse-by-verse threads?

THAT is the big question. Because if the bible thread is reopened, then every other verse-by-verse thread should be allowed also. And then people will start posting religious topics again, and we're back where we started.

 

If the admins aren't listening then it would appear this thread has outlived its useful lifetime. I'd say close it too.

 

If they close it, then it'll be a fresh round of complaints about the closing of this thread in *another* thread. :b

I've kinda noticed like Padme Bra that all the topics here just seem to go in circles. I don't like the banning decision, but I'll shut up about religion hoping someday it'll come back. Besides as I said above the admins aren't listening anymore, debating with you isn't likely to get the ban repealed either

I think that the decision is made and no one has yet offered anything that could lift the ban for the second time so there's no point in continuing the dialogue.

 

What I was refering to was when Padme Bra said the decision was made and nothing will change it.

Eh, not my problem. Personally I think he'll crack under the pressure. There are a lot of people out for him (no, I'm not one of them...for now).

MY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! No one, absolutley NO ONE go to TFU's board. Some sicko posted the most God-awful picture I have ever seen in my life. I literaly became physicly ill. Seriously , It was absolutley sicknening. Whoever did it I hope remembers Karama cause that one is definetly coming back to bite you in the arse.
