Chatt, TN November 2005 meeting

On the agenda for tonight, we will be going through what was discussed in the Counsil meeting that was held on the 10th. We basiclly went through the by-laws and saw what worked and fixed what didn't. We'll go over some of the major changes tonight. Also:

Christmas get-together:
Right now, the tentative date is December 12th @6:30pm. We have a possible place, but we need to get the deposit down to reserve it. We'll be having a "Jawa Gift Exchange" (think White Elephant game) along with a raffle for a custom made lightsaber hilt made by eelem.

Chattacon:
We'll have a little over a month to get the money together for the pre-reg discount, so we need to pick a day where we can hand the money over to our Treasurer to make the payment. If there's any news about us doing something "official" with Chattacon, I'll give an update.

Chattooine Cares
YaYa will update us with how much we have and plans to help a child or two with some Christmas presents.

Harry Potter premier
For those that are interested, a midnight showing of Harry Potter will be shown at the Rave on November 18th. If anyone wants to discuss any get-togethers, now would be a good time. Due to the recent changes from the counsil meeting, this now falls under our "Official events".

Star Wars birthday party for Tate
YaYa and DarthBudweiser's son Tate will be having his 10th birthday party at the Rave theater on November 19th. It will be a Star Wars themed party, so everyone please come in costume. After the party, we will see the Harry Potter movie in a reserved VIP section. We'll need to buy a ticket BUT the popcorn and drinks will be free. Please get with YaYa if you have any questions or plan to be there.

By-laws explained:
At the counsil meeting on Novemeber 10th, we decided to break down the membership into 3 classes: active, general, and honorary. Honorary is bestowed upon someone (like a celebrity or a FanForce member from another city). General is pretty much anyone who takes part in our "all-access" meetings and posts on the boards. Active is members who pay annual dues, goes to meetings, and posts on the message board.

Membership dues will remain at $15 a year (due in March). They then go up to $20 until the month of October in which they will drop to $10. A family membership is you, your spouse, and your children under 15 (although each family only gets one vote). a lifetime membership of $120 is available for anyone who wants to take part in that. We are also offering a "premium package" that consists of an active membership for a year, a t-shirt, and a bumper sticker for $35.

Future meetings:
We will have 10 meetings at the Rave per year. These will be for active members only (although new people can come to this once before needing to pay dues). We will also have at least 2 "all access" meetings at a different location. These will be like membership drives and we'll try to plan something fun around those meetings.

Christmas Party:
We discussed dates for this, and it seems like December 15th (not the 12th) fits every's schedule a little better, so we're going to see if we can reserve the clubhouse for that date. LordJohn plans on still having the RPG session as well, so bring your characters! We'll be having a "Jawa Gift Exchange" (think White Elephant game) with a gift in the range of $10-$15 along with a raffle ($2 per ticket... as and you can get as many as you want) for a custom made lightsaber hilt made by eelem.

Chattacon:
Several of us are going. We're not doing anything official with them, but several of the 501st is planning to attend, so this will be a nice invasion. We're trying to get enough people together to get a $5 discount off the current pre-reg price of $40. We need 20 people to go in together to do this. I think with us and the 501st going in together, we can make it. So... if you plan to go and would like to get a $5 discount, please bring $35 with you to the next meeting (the 12th) unless we make other arrangements.

Chattooine Cares
See YaYa for details. The plan right now is to take care of a couple of kids off the "Sharing Tree". That will depend on how much we can raise.

Harry Potter premier
This Thursday (the 17th), Chattooine will be at the Rave Theater starting at 7:00pm for the Harry Potter lineup. Several of us will be in costume (HP, not SW). Even if yo udon't have a costume, please join us in our first offical "non Star Wars" event.

Lookout Valley Christmas Parade
Chattooine will be in this parade happeneing on December 10th. (PM me for directions and details). We'll be decked out in Star Wars costumes as we hand out candy. Not sure if we're walking it or if we can get a small float together, but either way, we'll be there.
