Tell that to my bottlerocket from my JROTC days! Lol! It never opened and smashed ontop of the school! Lol!

The rocket I had went about 100 ft into the air. Some of my classmates rockets went a little higher.

    Anybody play CCG?

Buzz, the parachute is useless when the rocket goes so high you never see it again. I don't think I've ever recovered any rockets that had C engines in them. But for A engines and B engines, the parachute is a necessity.

CCGs? Haven't played in a while (I tend to get trounced), but I can bring my cards.

I guess we all can relearn how to play CCG. I haven't played in 2 years and I vaguely remember the rules.

SWEET! Wickham Park! A meeting I don't have to drive over an hour to! To Ms. Destiny Skywalker- I have been to Wickham Park- the water is somewhat cloudy- due do the jetty. So I am not sure how clear the water will be- depends on how wavy it is that day. Can't wait to go the big shindig. Should I bring anything?

I have friend from the stables who might be coming to the party. She's a Star Wars fan too. She might also stop by the forum, but I'm not sure.

You know..... that's only going to encourage me........
The last time I got buryied in the sand I was turned into the Sphynx. It was cool and I never got a pic of it. It was just my face sticking out of the sand and we played a game of Ask_the_Sphynx/Buzz/Thing_a Question. I couldn't hear a thing and the reply would be complete non-sensical.
"Oh mighty Sphynx...... Do I have a chance with Betty?'
"Blue grass grows only in Kentucky."
    "Thank you.... I shall meditate."
Did I meantion there was alcohol involved?

No way am I going snorkeling there. I just got back from St. Maarten and I am now spoiled as hell and refused to go snorkeling in anything that is not crystal clear. ;)

I may not be there right off the bat because I have a Student Ambassador Retreat the night before, but I'll see if I can get them to clean up quick. :D

I may be reading into things that aren't there, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But with all the talk about beaches and sand and swimming and jetties, people are aware that Wickham Park is very decidedly inland, right?

There is a small lake (well, "big pond" to me) there that has a swimming area and I know people canoe on it as well, but from what I remember (and granted, I haven't been there in about a year and I never went swimming there) the shoreline isn't really what I think of when someone says "beach." I think of things like the Cocoa Beach Pier and Melbourne Beach where there are 50 feet of hot sand and dead fish before you get to the water, at which point the sand turns into broken seashells and little rocks.

Snorkeling and swimming and whatnot should still be a potential activity if one so chooses, but it is a lake, and not the ocean.

Again, if I'm remembering wrong, or if people knew that already and I'm just too dense to see that, please correct me.

St Marteen rocks! I've been ther numerous time. Enough to eat bad jerk chicken, lose a bundle in a casino, met a girl fall in love and have my heart broken, and get second degree sunburns over most of my body, and still avoid getting picked up by Shore Patrol.
I went there once after a hurricane and and I was snorkelin at Orient Beach and found a shed and a couple of palm trees sitting in about 15 feet of water. It was like someone set them there. The water is truely fantastic. Which reminds me I have to get to work planning the Keys evolution......

Well, when I made my initial comment at first I thought people wanted to go snorkeling in the ocean because I thought we were debating between Mel Beach and Wickham for a bit, but I'm not going in any pond water either after being in the beautiful Caribbean. :D

    Its a really big pond.

As you go in, to your left is the stables and straight ahead is the pond. There are smaller ponds too scattered further back. I'm not sure I havent been there in months.

Anyway, lots of trees and ducks.

    Buzz (and all),

Snorkeling will likely require a field trip from the BBQ unless we switch this to the actual beach park.

    Art,

We might want to consider that since initially the idea was to burn some meat and now people intend to actually get wet.
