Some People - Part 2 (WARNING: Language)

Yes...my bad...assuming that I'm wrong in my assessment. Is it a comedy?

 

I do agree that this Bill guy has been pulling some pretty big BS lately, but I don't see any reason to insult the movie, because that basically insults the work of the other people who worked hard on it and don't necessarily agree with Bill. I mean, how fair is it to start saying you think the acting sucks as a response to Bill's behavior when the actors didn't do any of this, and have been dragged in and insulted unfairly? I say flame Bill all you want, but leave the others out of it. Besides, this is about the behavior of one person, not about the quality of everyone's work involved.

 

Exactly the point I'm trying to make, Jace. This whole thread is hardly to the benefit of people interested in making fanfilms.

And I must comment on the trailor: I have watched it many times and left with the same amount of information I had before seeing anything. I am SURE the film has a good script, but all the trailor was was random clips that made no sense and alot of stolen clips or opening crawls. (the last one has some clapping so you knew he didn't make it)

But the movie does have potential, but I think I, just like Bill obviously has, found that BA will be the better film.

Fair enough. Forget what I said, Scott, I was just foolin'. But on a more serious note, you really need to work on that trailer. I showed it to three people without even explaining anything behind it, and they all thought it was a comedy. Honest. And I wasn't even egging them on. I think part of it is that they've seen the spoofs that were made, and automatically grouped this in with them. How long is it going to eventually be?

 

Maybe he does need to work on the trailer, but I think that is irrelevant. The issue is Bill's behavior, not which film is/will be better. True, that's what may have started the issue, but it's not the issue (IMO, anyway. Besides, like I said, a lot of people put hard work into the film (and before you say anything about it being crappy/sloppy/lazy, you should remember that ANY fan film takes a lot of hard work), and they shouldn't be unfairly dragged into this just because of the actions of one lunatic. I seem to remember one retort (don't remember where, maybe in the first thread) being that someone thought the girls in the movie were ugly, which was WAY out of line, because it was a rude personal attack on an innocent bystander, basically.

Obviously, if Bill was the only person who worked on this film, then you could insult it all you wanted (because HE would definately deserve it), but since he was *not* the only person, and those other people (who don't happen to agree, condone, or support Bill's recent behavior) put hard work into it, we shouldn't do that. (sorry for repeating myself, but I wanted to make a point)

 

Darth Corleone, Which just goes to show - you can't judge a book and all that. I think a lot of people will get a kick out of it, but you can't please everyone.

As for a length, I don't know. If they shot the script I wrote it'd be around the 40-45 minute mark. However there were quite a few changes for various reasons, during shooting, so I don't know what the final length would be.

 

dude, Scott_M- maybe less ppl would be involved if he hadn't of PMed all of us...

and you know- a trailer is 'spost to make ppl want to see the movie, if ppl think a trailer is bad it's a pretty good reflection on how the movie how the movie is. Yes you have have a good trailer and a crappy movie- but rarely is it the other way around

besides, Ray's 'letter' was pretty funny you got to admit

 

I'm not going to say the trailer was perfect (I've yet to see a fanfilm trailer I WOULD describe as perfect), but on the other hand it's not nearly as bad as some people are trying to make out. There's was one or two things I would've tweaked (my acting for a start), but it's not my call.

 

Thanks, Scott, and remember, I was just messin' around before...I never actually judged the film because I haven't seen it, so there's no lesson needed. It just went a little too far. If I had seen it, I would have been very specific about it. I work in professional filmmaking as a producer and editor, and the same unwritten rules in conduct apply all-around: you should always consider yourself as a representative of the production. How you behave in situations surrounding the film dictates how people will judge the integrity of the entire production, even without seeing it. I think the same should appply to a FanFilm. Bill's behavior reflects badly on the entire production, and if I were one of the people who worked very hard on the project, I'd be pretty irritated with him right now, because it would make me look bad. Bill acted out of anger and frustration, and apparently devoted a lot of energy on following through with that...energy that could have been redirected to benefit the film. If you act like a hack, you'll be seen as a hack, and so will your film.

 

Jace, the comment about the ugly girls was made by Bill himself. He was trying to make it look like someone else was insulting his film...

Azeem has the IP stuff, plus, just use common sense. The way each comment is written, then the fact that they are stacked up with only a few minutes between in the middle of the night...

 

I still cant believe bill is still stirring crap up. The fact i had to goto court to get a restraining order on him cause he was sending abusive/racist and disgusting pornographic images he editted and sent to my email account..Being a 17year old finishing high school and having to waste time at court testifying to get rid of 30+ year old ppl who have nothing better to do than harrass teenagers....Thats credit enough how much of a ****** he is..

I laugh at the fact your suing nick hallam.. You know that sending pornographic material to a minor is a felony..prehaps u should read up on the law ********..

Grow up and dont deteriorate your film considering ppl i know who worked on it and im sure they dont want the reputation of the film to go down **** creek due to the bad nature of yourself.

When all is said and done. People will know whose right..and saying that..its definitly not you!

just fed up of the abuse Nick is recieving for a film hes worked so hard on. If only everyone knew nick in person..you would really understand how much bs bill is spinning..

I just watched the trailer again and I think it's biggest flaw is that it drags way too much. It needs to be much quicker.

 

Azeem, why didn't you just do the simple manner of banning him from the boards and blocking him from your e-mail?

 

Macho: he's been banned. Repeatedly. However, people can get access to other IP addresses. Especially, it seems, tenacious, vindictive, vulgar people.
