The suckiest sucking Star Wars comics to ever have sucked this sucky Earth.

Worst story and art EVER. Stay away. Stay far away. Unless you want a complete EU collection like me.

    I believe it's the last 3 issues of the Marvel-Star Droids comics...issues 6, 7 and 8.

God they suck. It's like the artist hadn't even watched ANH before he drew everything.

Hey, wanna know how Threepio and Artoo got past Ben and Vader dueling on the Death Star? Threepio couldn't sneak past, so Artoo shoots a line, grabs Threepio's leg, and drags him between Vader's legs! Hahahaha!

    What a bunch of crap!

By the Force! You're kidding, right? Are there scans of these anywhere?
In another issue, the droids time travel a hundred years in the future to visit Bright Tree Village on Endor... Before ROTJ! Can we get someone to declare these Infinities? Please?!

I have all 8 Droids issues. I'll be sure to scan them. I'm going to scan the extremely silly Threepio/duel thing probably tomorrow, and send it to Valiento. He can put it up for all to see in it's horrible glory.

Ok, I read it. It is AWFUL. The artist must not have even seen the movie, despite the fact that it had been out for five years! I might have been able to take the little mole creatures, (they were awfully cute) but Artoo and the Tusken Raiders? I don't think so. The EU doesn't hit rock bottom often, but when it does, it hits HARD.

Haven't seen the cartoon, but Marvel is definitely cornier in this.

The Dark Horse droids were quite a range. The Kalarba adventures were quite endearing and readable, I couldn't stand Rebellion, and the third arc was ok. Protocol Offensive was absolutely outstanding, one of the best Wars comics ever.

I already found a link to a site where a person will be scanning the rest of the Droids 6,7, and 8, and Lord is it awful.

The Corellian Corvette looks NOTHING like the movie's! Neither do the Rebel troopers!

Yeah I have them, and they're a god awful adaptation.

On my timeline, I have the Droids Marvel comics set 5 years BSW4

I have the TV series set 4 years BSW4

and I have the DHC series set 3 years BSW4.

This is all based on various events that occur during the series' that sort of date lock the series. (IE: Han and Zee Zee in Droids: Rebellion, IG-88 in the TV show and comic, etc)

timetales defines it different than that but Timetales isnt very accurate. Ask Val, he'll probably have something in the Essential chronology.

Yeah, many of the timelines are incorrect in their placement of the Droids series'. Basically, in order to place them, one has to use outside sources to do it (The IG-88 short story, The Hutt Gambit, Rebel Dawn, The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook etc).

Surprisingly enough, the Essential Chronology makes no mention of the stories, except in the timeline in the back of the book.

    It sets them:

18 - 0 BBY (before Battle of Yavin)

Basically, it says they can be set anywhere between Episode III and Episode IV, when in fact, they actually can be locked down pretty accurately.

TimeTales is actually right: the Droids cartoons can only be locked down under one year before Yavin because the Max Rebo Band exists at that time.

As for the comics, my own personal opinion is that the first four can be locked 100 BBY, and then number 5 can be around the time of the cartoons, since the Galactic Empire is in existance then.

But what makes it fun is that we have to figure out how Artoo and Threepio are separated again until TPM, and how they continue to have wild adventures.

We know that the original form of Threepio is over a century old, but the age of Artoo is out in the open.
