    From NJOE:

Apparently, a sales database has placed a new entry for STAR WARS: DARTH PLAGUEIS
    9780345511287 (034551128X). LUCENO, JAMES. Hardback LucasBooks. 28-Feb-2012. 27.00
USD Not Yet Published. (This is coming from NJOE)

NJOE says they've gotten word this novel may be made. Could this be Imperial Commando 2's replacement?

Wow. Sure hope it comes to be. Frankly I'd like Luceno writing anything but this is something.

Luceno could actually save his Plagueis novel from death? :D

    Hmm seems almost unnatural. :p

Never thought I'd see this come back. Especially before we got a Zannah or Cognus book.

Can't wait. But I wish there was another novel by Matt Stover.

As of now, I'm not gonna get excited.

But if it is true, well...

EDIT-Can't use that Scanners gif here, sorry.

    From Sue on the TOS:

"Yes, apparently a database has leaked this upcoming hardcover that will follow Palpatine's rise to power and his Master, Plagueis. "Not Yet Published" should have read: "Not Yet Announced." :(

However, this is not the IC#2 replacement book, but something that we've been working toward for some time now. No, I don't have the manuscript yet.

    Enjoy the anticipation!"

    I guess it's true!

So they're finally lifting the ban on info on Palpatine's early life and/or Sith career? As a major-league Darth Sidious fan (he's my 2nd favorite Sith Lord, and even then only because Darth Vader happens to be my favorite villain overall- I acknowledge Palpy's the better Dark Lord of the Sith), I have exactly one thing to say:

    SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    That is all. :D

Best news I've heard all day! [face_dancing] Especially since apparently this is not the replacement for Imp Com 2, which means another book that people have been asking for for years is in the works. Now if only Blood Oath could come back too.

Who said the novel had to have anything to do with Palpatine? It could simply be about Plagueis' own apprenticeship and how he became the Master. Personally, I've always been a Luceno fan because he writes the character of Sidious so well (CoD, LoE, DL:RoDV, ect), but Palp's backstory probably should remain somewhat obscure for now, because it's obscurity is WHY it's so interesting. Besides, plenty is already known about Palpatine's/Sidious's past...

While part of me wishes the mystery surrounding the character would stay intact, the fact that it's Luceno possibly bringing this novel back is kind of exciting. If it's true, bring it on!

You know how this news could be even better? As mentioned in the ImpCom2 thread, just - for a second - imagine...

Darth Plagueis: The Search for Sev

I know it started as a joke, but if the Plagueis novel can be brought back from the dead (quite unnatural, indeed), the idea of it tying RC's loose ends doesn't seem quite absurd anymore, right? [face_peace]

I'm still hoping Luceno will be able to tackle this expertly enough to tell Plagueis's story without really involving or revealing much about Sidious's origins (in other words, keep Sidious "off screen", and only brought forward for the revelant aspects of DP's death), as I still feel there is no satisfactory answer to be had out of Palpatine's origins.
