It's amazing where you see/hear Star Wars mentioned.

Last night I was watching Last of the Summer Wine on Prime TV (well, Dad likes it ?[face_plain] ) and some of the older ladies were talking about a new person in the village and said something along the lines of "She looks like something from Star Wars". She actually did look a little like the behind-the-scenes pictures I've seen of maskless Chewie (Peter Mayhew) with dark makeup all around her eyes. :)

It's OK, but a bit slow going.

My dad's even got an autographed photo of the three main stars from a few years ago.

It's pretty funny sometomes when you're walking down the street or in a shop and out of all the people talking everywhere you pick up two words "Star" & "Wars" no problem.

That reminds me of a story I heard about a native American with a friend in Times Square, in New York City.
They were standing there, and the native American said "I can hear a cricket chirping!"
His friend turned to him and said "That's impossible! How can you possibly hear a cricket in all this noise!"
So the native American leads his friend across the road and shows him the cricket, which is sitting on a fire hydrant. He then shrugged, "People hear what's important to them. See, I'll show you." So he gets out a coin, and flicks drops it on the ground. Everyone around them stops, and looks around to see who dropped it.

    There's a moral in that somewhere. :D

A similar thing happens with cars.

You drive around for ages not seeing any of a particular type of car, but just when you decide to buy one, you see them EVERYWHERE. :)

It also happens with Star Wars figures - just AFTER you buy a "rare find", they turn up all over the place (often cheaper).

More TV shows where Star Wars gets a mention. :)

    5:00 With Jude
On the repeated show this morning, the chef was cooking some sort of baked pear and he had a small propane burner that he said looked like something out of Star Wars.

    Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
Buzz and Zerg were fighting with some sort of laser sword when Buzz managed to disarm and knock down Zerg. With Buzz about to deliver the final blow, Zerg said, "Wait Buzz, there's something I need to tell you. I am your father."

See, Star Wars gets EVERYWHERE!! :D

I also managed to catch the interview with Jay Laga'aia on Wednesday's Good Morning show. He didn't say much though.

Jay Laga'aia said more than I thought he would, considering the non-disclosure agreement he would have to sign..

The MadTV segment can be found in TFN's multimedia section (third down. I haven't watched it, so I'm not sure what the quality is like).

They had a Jabba the Hutt character on South Park last week. I don't bother watching it, but happened to see it when flicking channels - there's NOTHING on TV on Thursday nights. :(

There's also, supposedly, an episode of Charmed just aired in the US which is strongly reminisent of RotJ - especially the Emperor frying Luke scene.

Star Wars was on Stargate last night. Turns out Te'ulc's watched it 9 times.

When Te'ulc showed up at the door wearing that cowboy outfit, I cracked up.

Like I said, there's NOTHINGon TV on Thursday nights.

    :p

Anyone watching Stargate this week would have seen another Star Wars connection.

Teal'c and O'Neill went around to Carter's house with a pizza and video - and guess what the video was ... yep, Star Wars!! :)

Evidently, Teal'c had seen it eight times, but O'Neill hadn't seen it ever - shock, horror.

O'Neill said something along the lines of ...
"You know me and sci-fi, but if he like's it, it must be good."

    :)

Imagine only having seen Star Wars eight times.

I don't even remember what it was like to have only seen it fifty times.

I've only seen it once or twice. Maybe thrice. And that goes for the other two, as well.
