*hastily scrambles back into the thread* Hey, not true! It's *always* worth discussing....such things very much always are. And, hey, I'm here *now*, anyway. :) And since I'm sure we're not the only two in here.... ;) </Dory impression> I *did* say that I was game, after all! :)

    Dawn.

For all I am concerned, it can be just the two of us here. As long as we are here to enjoy SW and no other motive. :)

Please let me know what you think about my example above, if and when you feel ready.

I think its interesting that in AOTC C3PO who didn't know of Obi Wan before (since he didn't get into the Tattoine's towns in TPM), tells Anakin "...an Obi Wan Kenobi. Master Ani, does that name mean anything to you?" And then you skip to ROTJ, Anakin tells Luke about his old self "...that name has no longer any meaning...".

What kind of symbolism can you come up with here? Discuss.

    Oh, yes. UP! :D

When Shmi is dying, Anakin is caressing Shmi's hand hoping she'll survive. In ROTJ Luke his doing very similarly with Anakin's/Vader hand. In the end, both have to carry their parent's respective bodies, although dead.

What happens before they both do so? Anakin's training as a Jedi and what they should portray, and what the Jedi should stand for, crumbles as Anakin takes things into his own hands, massacring the Tuskens, before he takes his mother's body away.

While for Luke, the Death Star the symbol of the Empire's pride, crumbles above him, just before he takes his father's body away.

Someone should make a list of all the symbolism in the film.

The plot is obscured, and the good dialogue is shrouded as is most of the character motivations.

    Hey, that wasn't so hard.
