Amph [Terra Nova] That Spielberg TV show with people Time-Travelling back to the Dinosaurs

That Steven Spielberg TV show is still on, right? I haven't heard anything about it in months.

It was going to be about people time-travelling back to the Age of the Dinosaurs, colonizing Mesozoic Earth due to overpopulation and extreme environmental conditions in the 22nd century, and once the colonists went back in time there was no way to return to the "present."

Please tell me it wasn't cancelled!

Can't think of its name, but it sounded like such a cool concept when I first heard of it, and the trailer looked good too so hopefully they can actually pull it off.

I need a good TV show that I can actually get into again...

Then again, I have a ****load of shows I'm following.

 

Brannon Braga is the showrunner, so there's a chance it might. There's even a story that went around that he got mad when someone asked about the time-travel ramifications of the show, which is something they obviously didn't put much thought into.

By "on" I was asking if it still has the green light, if it's still set to launch.

 

Have had the chance to see the entire pilot. The production values really show, they have a good group of actors with just enough hooks to give some future storylines. The overarching plot looks like it could go places, with some nice little drops of possible threads to carry over multiple seasons. The acting from the big names is what you'd expect from each of them, and the youngers and unknowns (at least to non-Aussie audiences) was between a decent average and up to a better than expected.

Personally I enjoyed it and can't wait for it to begin.

 

Isn't there a bearded version of the guy from "Avatar" in that show?

 

Yep, and in the previews, I was MST3K-style riffing his line "Beyond that wall, every living thing wants to kill you".

It's a stupid concept. "We're all in danger of extinction, so let's go back to a time when giant lizards can tear us the **** apart."

Nevertheless I'd probably watch it.

 

Not to be contrary, but any civilization advanced enough to master time travel could probably subdue dinosaurs pretty easily. As, quite frankly, we probably could as well, if the opportunity presented itself. Especially since dinosaurs, were wild animals, and as such didn't have any interesting in staging epic battle scenes against humans. Given that we probably weren't particularly A)easy or B)worthwhile prey, there probably wouldn't have been a lot of that happening.

Interesting concept. Dr. Who meets Jurassic Park. We totally screwed our present, so we're going to go back in time and screw our future future.

Plus given the time span of a few thousand years, any existence of humans would be wiped away by time. And as all the regular stuff they bring with them stops working they will be forced to rely on building their stuff from scratch.

Good graphics, and some good mysteries to start us off with (I already have some theories).

What did everyone else think?

 

I'm not done with it, but I'm about ready to shut it off now that I read there are mysteries.
