Just wondering. I know its not probable but does TFN need GL permission on everything to print a magazine up for readers and users of this site. Do they need to pay him for any image used as well. I mean SW insider is nice but at least TFN would have more honest reviews and be more fan oriented.

and lets not forget the constant publisher change and the Hyperspace requirement for subscription. No thanks.

OK we dont Steven Sansweet but we do have Crazy Mike. His collection is almost as large.

And we could have more fan art and fan stories published.

And a better Fanforce and events activities section.

Could it work or would Josh Griffin need permission from every person under the sun to print an image or a comment? Just wondering.

As long as it was done like a Fanzine type of thing, I dont think they'd have to pay out any money. Obviously official photos and stuff would be out of the question (copyright mumbo jumbo and all). But fan reviews and and maybe interviews of celebs at cons and stuff would be cool. Official statements may be ok, as long as the original source was included in the article.

I don;t think Pip Wise needs more money from fans of something he didn;t create.

I don't see the point. Every part of a magazine - including the ads - can be done on a website, and it can be updated more regularly too. Paying to see it on paper a couple of weeks after I saw it on the internet for free isn't what I'd call intelligent consumerism.

And of course, if Lucasfilm took umbridge with a column, he'd gracefully let them sue the individual reporter, rather then the profiteering publisher.

EDIT: My 3.5K post (I think). What better place to put it then Comms?

    I'd rather have a TFN cookbook. ;)

I wish to submit this entry to the TFN cookbook:

    Drama
    Ingredients:
    1 part valid complaint
    2 parts current mods
    1 part adminstrator
    3 parts helpy helper
    6 parts bitter ex-mod

    - Take valid complaint and one part current mod, and mix in Comms.
    - Add in 4 bitter ex-mods.
    - Randomly add helpy-helpers trying to be helpful.
    - Add the second current mod, trying to get the discussion back on track.
    - Add in final two bitter ex-mods, bringing up how this has been suggested before, and will never work, bringing to a boil.
    - Let simmer for three days.
    - Finally, add one part administrator, locking the thread.

No "mods of the JCC" swimsuit issue, please.

I wonder what the status of fanzines in general has been since the web has made info distribution so much easier.

Jeff that was the best comment I have ever seen here in Comms. Pretty much sums it up.

And I would like to see mods in swimsuits. Well female mods anyway.

And the male mods can wear kilts for all the ladies.

According to the letter sent to subscribers, it's official. I got the letter earlier last week. It pretty much said that a new company took over Paizio and Insider would be replaced with another magazine called Amazing Stories.

Like most magazines with any movie-related sections, it does give little tidbits, but nothing new.

    No NO NO!!!

Paizio is no longer publishing the Insider - The Star Wars Insider is being published by another company, Amazing Stories Is Paizio's attempt to lure back some of the buisness...

Okay, phew, that's what i thought. Insider is getting moved, and the old company is starting up the Amazing one.

Don't you now have to pay for hyperspace in order to continue getting Insider?
