I watched 8 1/2 and just did not like it and thought I was just one of those people who don't like Spielberg or Scorsese. Then I watched La Dolce Vita, and was blown away by its power. I just don't like 8 1/2.

Ben Stiller and Mickey Rooney talk technology:

    Twitter is Stupid

Mickey Rooney has had one of the longest careers in the history of acting. Maybe THE longest. He ws born in 1920. He debuted on stage at age 15 months with the family act. He began his movie acting career in 1927 in the silent era. He's now 90 years old, and was part of a huge hit, Night at the Museum in 2006 that made hundreds of millions of dollars. In his heydey at MGM when he was one of it's biggest stars, a movie that made 5 million was a big hit.

He's got several movies in post-production and is signed for several new movies in 2011, including a possible Muppets project, according to IMDB.

He's been acting for 88 years.

A Night at the Opera starts on TCM in 3 minutes. It's Marx Brothers night to ring in 2011.

This movie features the famous "stateroom scene" for those who have never seen it.

I'm very optimistic about my financial situation this year. I've taken out a life insurance policy on Ricky Gervais.

I think the Golden Globes elevated him from "Guy I think is funny" to "My personal hero."

    Here's a great quote:

A writer is somebody for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people. -Thomas Mann, novelist, Nobel laureate (1875-1955)

In 14 minutes, TCM plays "Murder By Death" as part of it's Peter Sellers tribute. Alec Guiness also stars in this spoof of many an Agatha Christie story.

    You have been warned.

In 12 minutes...on TCM..."The Tramp and the Dictator", a documentary about Charlie Chaplin and Adolph Hitler, two 20th century icons...born only 4 days apart, who influenced each other from afar. The film was produced in 2002 by Kevin Brownlow.

And the followup, the Great Dictator, beginning now on TCM. A film where Chaplin takes on Hitler.
