Hey, I remember in one of the threads a while back, someone mentioned a site where they explain how to actually write the Opening Crawl. Meaning they went into how many lines each paragraph has, what type of word to start paragraph 1/2/3, etc. I checked the first page of this thread, but all of the tutorials are for making the effect, and not for constructing the text. Does anyone know what site this is and have a link?

And regarding the opening crawls, I don't know the site you're talking about off the top of my head but there's a lot of info on the offical SW site that may give you some ideas.

In my wandering, I found the Fan Audio Made Easy series - which has a ton of great advice. A six-part series on storytelling, a three-part series on voice acting, and two episodes on casting - it's great. And with just a little tweaking, it's easy to adapt the advice Nathan and Rich give to fanfilms.

Is there a tutorial out there somewhere that tells you how to create that old film look? Basicly the look that has all the old scratches and dirt makrs. For an example, look at the film "Your Lightsaber and You" on the Atomfilms web sight.

Anyone know about 3D tutorials(Ex. How to Import to After Effects, How to animate 3D models, proper lighting, ect)

 

You don't do 3D stuff in AE, outside of compositing already-rendered video.

 

I have a question maybe you guys can help me.. I want to create a glow around my self.. kinda like how a super saiyan looks in DBZ. with the golden glow execpt I want it to be red. any idea on how I can do this?

Edit:Im using after effects is there a way to do it with this program?

 

Yeah. You can do it with masks and solids, as in a lightsaber, or with radial blurs and solids, or many other methods. There aren't really any tutorials for it (other than one I wrote a looooong time ago, and not sure where it is), since the effect is so vague. Once you learn the basics of AE, you're sure to come upon your own method. Just put some thought and effort into it.

I'd recommend using this. You text really needs to be justified and not centered. Included in there is a project file for AE 6.5 by DV, it looks highley realitic. I'd check with him before using it for you own film though. If he allows it, just change the text and render it out.

also ive been watching ryan vs dorkman fight.

if you go to 02:52 it has a bad ass clash sound which sounds like an explosion.. anyone know where I can find it? I have a load of saber sounds but not any like that.

 

I don't know specifically, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was at the SoundBunker.

Edit:And speaking of sounds. here is 2 sound effects you can use. one is the Episode II saber fight where you can fill free to rip sounds from(its a clip of the battle mp3) and an ESB Saber Lock Clash(One of my favorites that I personnaly edited).
