Now that we have a name, I invite everyone to start making a custom banner for our forum. Please submit them to me, via PM, and we'll all vote for the one we want in an anonymous, non-competitive manner.

 

Just make it a slow contest as Photoshop work is time consumming and I dont have a lot of it.

 

I vote for the one Axia gave you a while back.

 

I don't remember Axia ever giving me a full banner, just that black and white graphic with the Star Destroyer (which was really cool btw).

Anyway, there is no end date at this time. I just want people to start coming up with designs.

 

I vote for an end date. Like February 6th.

 

You're just voting for any and everything today, aren't you Talon. Anyway, you can't rush good graphics. How about an end date of like March 1st?

After seeing Axia's there is no way I will even bother changing mine.

I used the Las Vegas forum as a template.

No, I just viewed the source and copy and pasted. It took awhile to figure out how to start messing with stuff, but that HTML class I took kicked in after a bit.

 

I like the new official FF Chapter name, "SD-1138", though some may confuse us with San Diego or South Dakota?
I love Axia's Executor and font concept as well as MoronDude's background concept. Combining the 2 with maybe a more recognizable(outside visitors can make out familiar casino-hotels,etc) cityscape, and another neon Vegas sign image would be awesome. Just my 2 cents. I don't have any Photoshop skillz so props to you all.

 

NO, No, No, I am REALLY against incorporating views of Vegas in the design. We are a Star Wars club on a forum, who cares about this cultural waste land someone mislabeled a city. I think the incorporation of Star Wars elements and any city whether it be phoenix, denver or even Vegas is just jarring. these two very seperate elements just dont work together in my opinion. Please let us leave the cityscape out of the design.

 

what about the star destroyer firing on and blowing up the strip


By the way, are we imp themed, or are we more of a rogue star destroyer, like what's his heads.... Booster Terrik, or whoever that was that got a big star destroyer and painted it red.



if we are sort of a rogue thing, accepting of jedi or fringer factions, do we want a big imp symbol in the corner?

just some thoughts.

 

Not incorporating a familar city image(familar around the globe, etc)in the banner would make for a boring FF banner. Just having a SW theme, Imp or Republic is just like any other regular banner imho...but you guys are the ones actually creating the banner so its your "baby".
Many of you are all from either Henderson or Summerlin and can care less about what city really makes the money for this area...
I just think it'd be great to show off to everybody that Las Vegas does have some kind of FF. People are always asking me if there is one.

Maybe instead of a Vegas cityscape, we can get a familar Tatooine-scape scene. just plain boring desert sand

 

I feel just the opposite. EVERYONE uses their city in their logos. Lets be different.

 

Its cool. I will agree with a more SW-esque theme to go along with the Executor-Class SD. How about some TIE-Interceptors and an Imp shuttle somewhere in there? Maybe have an interior bridge scene with Darth Vader looking out the window?

 

Would you consider adding an EU Dominator-class SD, from the X-Wing Rogue Squadron: Phantom Affair comic series?

Showing somethign to do with the city in a subtle way is cool, but either very subtle or not at all.


What about the SD chasing the Lady Luck (Calrissians ship?)

Better yet, how about some sabaac cards down the side?, like a certain hand, like idiot's array?


That would reference the star wars version of gambling, which would be enough of a connection in my opinion.

 

I disagree with Axia. While Las Vegas (or Nevada for that matter) shouldn't be featured in our banner, I would like to see something (no matter how small) that links our banner to our city and/or state. Or else, the banner would be like any other forum's banner.

And I like your banner, Axia, and I know you can put mt Photoshopping skills to shame and all, but as it is right now, you're concept is kinda boring.
