Welcome to the 18th JC Hogwarts House Cup! A few things out of the way first.

So what exactly is this?
This is a Harry Potter-based game that is intended for the Potter fans of the JC. If you do not like Harry Potter, I wouldn't advise signing up.


How does this game work?
A list of Tasks will be posted on the starting date. Each team, or House (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin) has the job of completing as many of those Tasks as it can. The tasks range from answering questions to writing fan fiction to creating fan art to performing music. Each task is worth a certain number of points. Every week, the House leaders, called prefects, will post the tasks done that week. At the end of the game, the Houses will post all their completed tasks for the final update.


What are the weekly and final updates about?
Official points will only be given at the end of the game. However, every weekend, a prefect from each House must post an update of the tasks completed by the House that week. It shouldn't be cumulative because this is just to show me that you?re working (and to provide an idea of who is winning at that stage in the game).

The final list of completed tasks for your House must be posted by the Head Prefect before midnight Boards/Pacific Standard Time on October 15. This final list should be cumulative, since it will make it easier for me to tally points so the winner can be announced sooner. The final update must be posted be the Head Prefect unless he/she has stated that he/she will be unavailable and has made arrangements with another prefect to do it. Weekly updates should also be posted by the Head Prefect unless he/she asks the other prefects to do it (or he/she isn't around and it hasn't been done).

If something unexpected happens the last night and the Head Prefect isn't around, another prefect should post the final update after the deadline has passed. Your private boards will need to have the time/date functions turned on for all posts and edits so I can make sure that tasks weren't added after the deadline.

Prefects: To post Tasks, write the category, then the Task, then the completed Task. As in, write the Category, then copy and paste in the Task descriptions of each one completed that week (including how many points the task is worth), and then after each description, paste the response for it. At the end, write the tasker's username so I know who to award points to:

Please post tasks in the order they're in for the category; chasing down which tasks go where is time consuming and might result in me asking you to re-post your update in the correct format before I award you points.


What are the prizes?
Please note that you must contribute at least 65 points worth of tasks to your House's final total to receive relevant prizes should you win. It's VERY easy to 65 points, so we encourage you to do at least that much if you sign up.

2nd Place Head Boy/Girl
72 hours of House colors
72 hours of a title denoting that you won

People who got less than 65 points
24 hour game ban

The Head Boy/Girl will be the member who contributed the most points worth of Tasks, and does not necessarily have to be from the winning House team. If the Head Boy/Girl is from the winning team, he/she will get two weeks of colors (one for the team win, one for the Head Boy/Girl). If the Head Boy/Girl is a mod, the runner-up will get the colors. To determine who is Head Boy/Girl, authorship of Tasks must be indicated when they are posted by a Prefect (at the end of the Task
