Aroma is amazing. And the taste matches. Sweet, slightly tart and acidic. And it is indeed Big Guava![IMG]

Very much enjoying a six-pack of Nutcracker Ale by Boulevard. It's got a wonderfully complex flavor, a full body, and a long lasting head.

And, I got it for five bucks.

I don't know if it's a sign that I love beer too much, but I was gifted 4 6-packs during my time home. The usual Great Lakes Christmas Ale from my parents, Anderson Valley's Winter Solstice (mayyyybe my new favorite winter/Christmas beer?), Holy Grail Ale, and then an assorted 6 pack. Now to wait for my parents to ship it all my way!

And that one sounds good, Inty.

Picked out a variety of types of beers that I normally don't even try.

Southern Tier's Eurotrash Pilz - pretty much meh to me. it's what I remember most beers taste like, though it brought back memories of sneaking a taste of my dad's beer when I was little.

Southern Tier's IPA - yeah, definitely on my avoid like the plague list. To me it's like beer gone really, really bad.

Lakefront Brewery's Big Easy Seasonal Imperial Maibock - granted after the three sips of the above anything would have tasted good. Not bad, but lacks the kind of flavors I like.

I'm glad to see you are trying new things :). For myself I grabbed a bottle of Dogfish Head Piercing Pils, made with pears and pear tea. And a six pack of Bells Best Brown Ale.

My wife got me a taste tour and growler from a local brewery - Big Choice Brewing. They had a delicious apricot-infused Belgium, a wonderful winter ale, a delightful Double IPA, a very good black IPA, and an interesting poblano stout. Also, a pedestrian red, IPA, and heff.

Need to go back and find more places like that

WookatMe Let me know what you think of Piercing Pils. I had it recently and thought it was really refreshing and not too fruity. I'd definitely buy it again.

2 other things! 1) Does anyone here use the Untappd app? Because you should and we should be friends on it. 2) Anyone ever try any beers by Mikkeller? I got a bottle of the Beer Geek Breakfast (smoked oatmeal coffee stout) and I'm so excited to try it. But I'm waiting for...something. I'm not sure what. But something.

I really liked it. Hop bitterness up front cut quickly by the fruit sweetness. Very refreshing.

Look me up on untappd TJay7481

I have only tried a few Mikeller but they are really good. I tried some of their lambics, awesome.

xblackout I use Untappd, look for me as Frieda H. Don't have it connected to anything though.

I've had the Beer Geek Breakfast, found it very good!

No idea what most of those may taste like, but the Hunahpu more than makes up for it. I know you will enjoy them.

Tonight I'm mixing a glass of half Lindemans Frambiose and half Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout.

Good lord, this may be the best beer in the world!

Really, just the Sam Smith Chocolate is awesome enough on it's own.

I finally got to try Brooklyn Brewery Black Ops -- cannot recommend enough.

David, yes it is, but a really tasty chocolate raspberry stout is even better.

Picked up a 4pack of Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale by Wells Brewery. Very sweet, very tasty.

Tonight trying a bottle of Mikkeller'a Black Hole. A stout brewed with coffee. Potent and at first overly bitter, but as it warms some really good flavors shine through.

I've had a handful of ridiculously delicious and wonderful beers recently and I had been meaning to post but never dug up the thread. Whoops. My favorite was Sour in the Rye from The Bruery. Oh man. So sour, reminded me a lot of apple cider vinegar with some lemon? It was way too easy to drink and was gone way too fast AND I can't stop thinking about it (which I realize sounds a little crazy BUT IT WAS SO GOOD). Also had Wake Up Dead (Left Hand), Glimmerglass (Ommegang), Lunch (Maine Beer Co -- best IPA I've had so far), and Snozberry Stout (Great South Bay). I would highly recommend all of them.

And Healer_Leona that Sticky Toffee Pudding sounds so interesting but I've never seen it around.

I'm at Happy Hour, drinking a delicious Brown Ale by Upslope. It's the best attempt I've had so far at a coffee inspired dark beer. Good bar beer, as I don't want a six pack, but enjoy this one.
