3-1 over an injured Sharks team. Now they will lose two straight to LA...

I'm a Sharks fan but I'm not worried about the loss. I'm more concerned with their run-up to the playoffs (I'm going to two games at the Shark tank over the next month).

You be sure to let us know how it feels watching the playoffs on TV again. :D

If they get there, I'll let you know; meanwhile you can tell us how it feels to watch the Sharks choke in the play-offs every year...[face_whistling]

Losing in OT in game 7 against Calgary last season is NOT considering "choking", I'll have you know.

No. I consider that a loss by attrition. Both teams were exhausted, and it was late as hell that night. [face_not_talking]

I got a feeling this is the breakthrough year.

Canucks have yet another good first period and shuffle the rest of the way.

I was just looking at the box score for tonight's game and it says Viktor Tikhonov of Phoenix scored an empty net goal....in the second period. And a penalty was given to him right after.

Did what I think happened just happen? :p

EDIT: Here it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS6wL5Mr3Qg

I originally thought one of the Canucks put it in their own net....that's interesting.

Now Luongo says that he will be moving on in 2010. No great surprise.

I don't know why they want to make the play-offs if they can't beat Edmonton.

Apparently Luongo managed a shut-out of the entire Colorado team, plus Alex Edler...!

This thread reminds me of those scenes from ER, where a doctor or nurse keeps giving CPR to a patient who's been down for 45 minutes, and everybody else is just standing around waiting for somebody to call a time of death...

N-E-Ways...I remember back in '94 when the Rockets were playing the Knicks in the NBA Finals, the Canucks were playing the Rangers at the same time in the Stanley Cup Finals. I hated the Knicks that season, so naturally, I hated the Rangers by association. The Rangers managed to pull it off, though. That's pretty much the only time I've ever cared about hockey.

We will now see how the Vancouver Canucks will choose how to screw it up.

They could win the Stanley Cup and you would still find a reason to make it seem like they're the worst team ever.

I've been a Canuck fan a long time. It's like pulling for the Red Sox in the days they never won.

They had an excellent second half unexpectedly winning the division, are up 2-0 in the series, have probably the best team they've had since the early 90s, yet you still choose to take the pessimist route. You know something's wrong when a Leafs fan has more faith in your team than you do and we know more about futility than anyone else. It's just really hard to picture you as a fan with the attitude you have. Of course you should be realistic but you know what? Realistically you have a pretty damn good hockey team and realistically they can go far in the playoffs. Not saying they will for sure but I wouldn't be too surprised.

Well, I was surprised to see them win game 3. But I still think they will find a way to collapse.
