I know it's a little early to be planning something (and that's just not our style)...do you guys think it would be a good idea to present Timothy Zahn with a Honorary Jedi Master award? (like we did for Troy Denning) This way...we could have it ready for when he is in town...as opposed to sending it after the fact.

see... i figure we'll get one of those flashy silver markers and everyone can sign a couple polaroids... you know... real classy-like...

but in all actuality, we should look at getting the shirt pressed sometime before the end of the year... can anybody guess what size he might wear?

I can do better then that...I'll ask the people at Del-Rey (and/or Joseph Beth) if we can present him with something at the event. The Troy Denning group picture was a nice idea...but it didn't turn out as well (and cost me more) then Amy Allen's award. Something like that might be the better way to go. Zahn as an honorary member of JKOC...go for it?

Speaking of shirts...we could get another batch done by then (but that for another thread)

 

I wish I could tell you right now whether I can attend or not but our work schedules may be changing due to the levy failure. I did tell my supervisor I'd like that night off though if possible. I'll contribute something to an award for Zahn either way.

I will take a vacation day if I have to but I'll be there. Since I do the class schedule I'll just make sure if there is one the other guy will teach it.

I like the idea of tshirt Geoff. Its also easier for the recepients to transport home. Also financially feasible for our group.

 

Okay, I jumped up and down as soon as I heard that. I wonder what my neighbors must be thinking of my screams of joy.

I found another big Timothy Zahn fan on campus, too. SHE CAN COME!!

I've been contacting various SW groups, informing them about this event...sort of an "open invite" to join us. Cindy, hit up your pals over at Rebel Legion...skye, don't forget to give Leslie's book group on speculative fiction a heads up on this.

 

I traded some e-mails with someone in charge of PR for Cuyahoga County Public Libraries...and she's offered to pass along information about Tim Zahn @ Joseph Beth to everyone she deals with. This might be a good break for us...help get the word out about Zahn.

 

This isn't going to turn into anyother Denning-get-there-right-in-the-middle-and-have-me-sit-alone-for-some-reason-while-you-all-where-somewhere-else kind of signing is it?

 

By the way...if any of you have some wealth stashed somewhere that I'm not aware of...I would love to go to this, and a plane ticket would be great.

No Em...this won't be one of the cases where we walk in late. In fact, I'd like to get there as early as possible...with our involvment in getting him here, we should be one of the first there.

Well, Oberlin is far for me, but I can help ferry up the Akron/Canton contingent.

I might be interested in going, but I gotta see if I have any tests around then or conflicts before I commit.
