Time Capsule Thread: A Congratulations to the owner of the first Waffle House on Triton

This is a time capsule thread which is designed to be a message to the future in which we congratulate the owner or owners of the first Waffle House to be opened up on Triton.

Triton is a moon of Neptune and has a tenuous atmosphere made out of something or other. It's cold there. More detailed information about Triton can be found on Wikipedia or a reliable website.

We must assume that space travel and colonization is something that is going to happen in the future, unless there is some sort of cataclysm in the next century. Assuming that there is no such cataclysm, we must assume that at some point there will be technological advances in spacecraft and propulsion systems, and that as these technologies continue to grow that they will become more affordable. It is likely that earth orbit, the moon, and Mars will be the first targets of any serious colonization efforts. With the development of even more powerful and cost effective propulsion systems, the moons of the outer system will one day be open to colonization. I am going to assume that the order of colonization will follow distance, as in the moons of Jupiter will see colonies first, followed by Saturn, then Uranus, and then at last Neptune. Triton is considered the all time best moon of Neptune, so it is a safe bet to consider that the bulk of human habitats in the Neptune region will focus on Triton. When this will occur is difficult to estimate, but by the guesses of Andalite-Bandit, I think that humans may have colonies on Triton by 2250. The earliest date I would believe for a Triton colony is 2103, and the latest I would believe is 2475. You may of course suggest your own predictions.

Now, once colonies begin to be established on Triton, there will need to be establishments for the colonists to dine at. We can therefore assume with absolute certainty that there will be Waffle Houses on any future Triton colony, and that one of these waffles houses will be The First Waffle House on Triton. A century later, when there are multiple waffle houses all over Triton, THIS waffle house will still be known as the FIRST Waffle House on Triton. Just like how that one pizza place in New York is the first pizza place in New York, and it's still open.

This is a thread for congratulating the owners of the first Waffle House on Triton. If these owners one day by chance find this thread, I believe they will print out these messages and place them on their wall and their customers will be fascinated by these messages from the paaaaaaaaaaaast.

My message is this: To the owners of The First Waffle House on Triton, you are the bravest of all waffle inventors. I have been dead for many years, but if possible it is my intention to haunt your establishment. I do not know how ghosting necessarily works and if it is even possible to travel far beyond the location of my actual death if I am a ghost, but if it is I will try to visit you.

 

It may start out as a simple waffle house, but it will eventually become the most powerful, most evil corporation in the universe, flicking away entire solar systems of dissenters like a granule of sand.

I just wanted to post in the Time Capsule thread so that when people open this in five years they know my name.

 

ObiWan506, do you mean to suggest you believe there will be a colony on Triton within only five years!? What do you know?
