Thanks, IEFF, for inviting me out to participate in your Christmas parade! I had a lot of fun and it was great meeting new people from your group, RL and the 501st. Special thanks to jangosmom for her amazing hospitality afterwards. That was an incredible food spread and I'm sure that was a LOT of work!

You guys did a great job on the float!!! Everything and everyone looked great! It was really nice meeting everyone yesterday... it was so nice to finally meet the faces associated with the people I've heard about for so long! Thanks for coming out and doing the parade and then joining us afterwards. We hope you'll come back again.

On an a different note- someone left a Star Wars hoodie at my house. It's black.

 

Thank you again to everyone who showed up, helped decorate the float, and made this year the best yet! A special thank you to Debbie for being a wonderful hostess and making us so many delicious things to eat!

 

Well, I have had such a good weekend! I REALLY needed to be with good people and all of you were just the prefect remedy for my depression!

I have so much to say, I'm afraid to forget something. If I do, just remember it's me and I love you all.

Debbie - Thank you for your hospitality, kindness and delicious food you provided us all with. I loved that the girls and I felt so welcome in your warm home. I loved your cookies!
Mike, Shelia, & Dane - Thank you for the trailer/float. Thank you for driving, taking pictures, providing the games & prizes. You really made the party so much fun! Thank you for your immediate gift of trust. You will never know what that meant to me. Dane Thanks for carrying tha banner for us and thanks for being such a kind and polite gentleman to everyone, but especially my girls. They are very fond of you.
Carrie - Thank you for the great pictures. I am really looking forward to the video. Thank you for my Christmas card. I loved the surprise inside. How clever you are!
Sonya - Thank you for everything you did to make our parade entry so wonderful! You put in tremendous amount of work and it showed! Everyone was talking about it today at Toys R Us. Thank you for your thoughtful car of my girls. They were so pleased to be part of the parade.
Kari - Thank you for your wonderful work on our parade entry and for the support, even if we didn't win in the judges eyes, we won with all of us. Everyone had a great time! Thank you for the moral support too!
Kevin - Thank you for being the angel and watching out for Chris' truck! The day would have come out much different if you were not there to rescue them. Thanks for being a trooper and sitting out on the street while we were all trying to organize ourselves and get back to you.
Chris & Pamela - Thank you for getting up before the sun to come be in our parade! You are an amazing Vader and we loved having R2 there too. Pamela, thank you for helping with the float in the morning and for walking the entire parade route to keep an eye on my babes. I really enjoyed talking with you the bits we were able to. I look forward to seeing you again soon. We'll keep in touch.
Mark & Debbie - WOW! Your Emporer is really amazing. I am so glad that you were able to come all that way to be in our parade. It made it SO much cooler having both of you there. Mark you are such a good man and I love being able to do things with you. I have some fun pictures too I'll send your way. Debbie, you are an angel for watching my girls so I could get the first round of boys down to the parade start. Thank you. We missed you at the party but were so glad to have spent part of the day with you.
Bill, Sandy & Brittney - Thank you for bringing the falcon up for the parade. I am so sorry that the truck broke down and there were so many issues with that. You are all so professional that we hardly knew that anything was wrong. You were able to pull through it and get there happy and healthy. I hope the truck is again soon too. Brit, thanks for walking with the banner. I felt very secure about Briar Rose because you were with her.

Stuart, Curtis, Kris, JT, Nicole, & Ronnie you were all missed very much (Kris I'm glad you and Karen made it to the party!). We had a wonderful time and everyone is excited and talking about it in the other clubs making plans and getting excited for next year. We are all well respected in the other clubs and it is a good and recipicated feeling I'm sure.

We had so much fun with the parade. It was wonderful seeing Shawn and the H-wing again. We have such wonderful memories of being with him and Coleen on our trip to C-3. Thank you Shawn for coming. And thank you to everyone who came and helped with the parade. We looked great. Sorry for the Falcon deciding to be a diva and stalling going down the parade. Of course, she is the Falcon. The people on the street had a great time seeing us and pushing her down the street. I think there were more people there this year than last year. We had more with our group this time than last time. Boy, next year sounds like it could be the best yet. Not sure if we won anything, but that is OK. We had fun. So glad to see Debbie and Ryan again.Looking forward to seeing all the pictures, and your video,Carrie. You do such a great job doing them. Thank you for the Christmas card. It was so us. You did a great job, Mike and Shelia with the party. That was fun. Happy Holidays to you all.

 

Pamela and I want to thank you all again for allowing us to be part of this annual event " Pamela and I look foward to it every year" and I can't wait for next Year's. Mark, the pic looks awesome! and I was so glad you and Deb could make it and I hope you'll be there next year as well. Sean I know this was outside of the woods for ya but it was good to see the H-Wing rolling up the street, Boy are we on a roll or what? The Falcon, H-Wing Float. We've got to keep 'em comming. To everyone who made this possible I want to thank you from the bottom of our Hearts you all truly make this soooooo much fun.

Well, I'm sorry to report I just saw the televised parade on Charter and it was disappointing to say the least. They did not show the float. They briefly showed Bill and Sandy's car, everyone walking between the 2 cars and then Shawn's car. That was it. We didn't watch the whole parade, but enough to know that we saw everything there was for IEFF. The camera work wasn't good, the announcers were even worse and the editing was just pitiful. How's that for an unbiased review? lol Ryan asked me what I was expecting, "the Macy's parade". I can't say I was expecting that, but definitely better than what was aired! I'm really sorry for all that participated that there wasn't any good footage of it aired. At least you guys had a good time and had a good crowd reaction.

I'm sorry to say I'm not surprised. Goof grief, I could teach the local cameramen something- and I didn't even get any training! Maybe next year I can talk Dad into marching alongside of us and getting footage of EVERYTHING.

Oh, well. As soon as all the pics are posted I'd like to 'borrow' a few (muwahaha!) and use it in my final montage.

As a side note, I agree with the lack there of coverage on us at the parade and I actually will be speaking with someone this week at charter about that. We did get a mention though in the Daily Press...front page even! I'm just glad I was able to be part of this great group and bring a little bit of "WOW...LOOK AT THAT!" to the folks watching us that day, as that's what it's all about. Anyways, it was great to see everyone at the party and here's the pics:

Those were great, Mike. Haven't shown them to Bill yet, but he will love them. He is off today so I can show him, them. I love your captions. I was so much fun. Such a bummer that Charter could not get it together with their coverage. They need to be shown how to do these kind of things. At least we got coverage from the Daily Press. We now know what to do for next time. I will remember to bring the wreath for the Falcon, this time. Thank you for everything you did for the day. Made it so much special.

One small little tiny thing... You need to add an "e" at the end of the word "Parade" at the beginning of the video.

 

I know, I know...I did, but it wasn't until I reveiwed it that I noticed the dumb editing program cut it off. It does that sometimes.
