My least favorite audio is the howl of a duck.

I don't care too much for the God-aweful sound a mule makes.

Unending buzzing sounds. These audio tracks make you look around to see if something is flying around.

Multiple voices hushing... there's a few documentary or scary show that will use that sound bite and I can't say I'd listen to that for too long without going crazy.

    For everything else, there's earplugs.

Hushing does get pretty annoying, especially when it is used so often.

White noise is also annoying to a certain extent. When something is badly recorded and you can hear the background noise too much.

I agree. Background noise that overtakes what you are supposed to be hearing.

Little kid-like whining on screen. At a certain point, that gets really old.

Noise feedback. When something is really loud and overloads the small microphone and makes a carackling sound behind the actual audio. Drives me crazy.

LOL were you having fun with webchat recently my friend... that's right headsets are the best.

Trick to avoid feedback, lower the gain of your microphone (or in some OS, Mic Boost)

Some older microphones can get overloaded.

OK, not all microphones. Cheaper ones can get more than they can handle, resulting in a really annoying continuous crackling.

    Oh ok.

I was at a classical music concert today and I heard something very annoying:

A violin bow screeching on a cymbal.

worst than the nail on the chalkboard treatment.

I've heard that (or a bow on a different percussion intstrument), but it's not as annpying. Things like that happens in band class, so I'm used to odd things occuring. We are truly a group of geeks. [face_laugh] :-B

you should have seen them play Conan, me and a friend got scared they were about to get through the Drum... literally.

I'm not sure this is really annoying as a sound, but there's a repetitive clicking in my fan every 22 seconds and that is somewhat getting annoying, but it's more the repetition of it.

Hm...there seems to be a pattern of the posts on here. Just Ultimateiz and I are posting continually on here. I wonder why that is; it's like a duel or something.
Anyway, the fan is just annoying repetition. It is that way because you know that it will occur, so you listen for it.

Anything that is loud and sudden; makes me jump every time unless I know it's coming.

Especially when I'm half asleep, I'm just like you.

Yesterday I was watching the latest edition of A New Hope on DVD and when Leia is rescued by the boys, there seems to be an ovious sound bite that wasn't retouched or anything.
It sounds just as if it had been recorded on set... odd.
