There's bootlegs of the Holiday Special on DVD. They show up at pretty much every Convention in Plano, Texas.

It's not worth the $25 for it though ;)

Wow, 25 bucks? I bought it at Vintage Stock in Tulsa for 12. Its also available on the various file sharing services on the web, but if you can only get the Boba Fett cartoon, you've done well. Art Carney does not fit in to Star Wars well...

Art Carney? I dont remember him at all, but i guess i was 11 afterall. It could be worse tho it could have been the muppets. did anyone ever see the Carrie Fisher Muppet Show?

There was a Carrie Fisher Muppet Show? I've seen the one with Mark Hammil and Chewbacca and the droids. It's pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as the Donny & Marie show where they played Star Wars. :: shudders at the thought of dancing stormtroopers ::

all i remember about it was that there was a scene where Miss Piggy and Carrie were both dressed in the white dress with the Honey Bun hairdo.

I have a question that might fit here. Does anyone remember a scene from the origonal movie in 1977 where Luke is looking up into the sky and sees the battle in which Leia's ship is disabled.

first has anyone ever seen it. And does anyone know if it will be on any future DVD releases. (assuming that the OT will be on DVD at some point)

It's currently availible on the Behind the Magic CD, if you can find the set. It's in black and white with no sound.

As for it being added to a future release of the DVDs, who knows.

Also, anyone pick up the Vista Series Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    DVD set yesterday? :D

No, but I've sure been wanting to! I heard that it's still slightly edited in a couple of places though...

I did, I did! I haven't watched it all the way through, though... just the beginning up until the part where "the rabbit kacked Marvin Acme".

Any details on those edited scenes? Did they remove the infamous "naked Jessica frame"?

Or, is it that DVD 1 is the full-screen "family friendly" version and Disc 2 is the (how did they call it) collector, connoiseur, whatever, version with DTS sound and anamorphic wide-screen?

As far as I know, both versions of the movie are edited. But if you want to catch a clip of Baby Herman's extended finger, check out the easter egg for the theatrical trailer on disc 1.

"On the main menu, move the cursor to Movie Theatre. Press down 3-4 times, or until the gauge with two arrows pointing to it is highlighted. This will allow you to watch the theatrical trailer"

The trailer is in pretty bad shape. I don't know if it was my player or what, but all of the narration over the trailer was coming from the rear left speaker and the rest was coming from the center speaker.

BTW, Red. Is your copy of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective *shudders* Pan and Scan? I bought it last night at Wal-Mart only to discover it was "Standard". Of course the trailer is Widescreen. Go figure.

I looked up the DVD on Amazon and IMDb and only found P&S listed. The R2 version is Anamophic Widescreen, 1.85:1. Are all R1 copies P&S?

If you want the Behind the Scenes CD-ROM, you might check Ross' here in town. I found a copy for 5 bucks a couple of weeks ago. I realize Ross is not a place you'd go to for software, but its worth the search.

Hey everyone I am new here but I am realy enjoying your forum it's great. Someone had mentioned about all the special editions on DVD's speaking of I picked up the new version of Stargate. It looks pretty good. I am wondering if they are trying to compete with T2 on how many editions they can make.lol
