Alright Rogues, it's time to start planning for February's WonderCon in San Francisco.

Here is the link for the official WonderCon Hotel as well as dates of the event.
    http://www.comic-con.org/wc/wc_hotel.shtml

Those of us going, we should get a group together to get a room together to split the cost.
Avalyn has agreed to help set this up for those interested.
We should also work on getting a table (near the SFFF?).
I have opened up conversation with Matt of the SFFF about another Unity event for that Friday evening. For the new people, Unity is a social event to bring together the FF, 501st and Rebel Legions attending the event. It was a dream of Chanel to see these groups "play nice" and with her passing we made that a reality two years ago. I want to see it happen again, but it is ultimately up to our brethren in San Fran.

I am planning on going all three days with at least 2 costumes. Anyone with questions or interested in going, post them here.

I want to go to the Sansweet thing/Wondercon and comiccon in San Diego. Please when planning these things just plan it like I am going. As far as costs for a room or sharing in fuel expenses please just post them here or contact me. Thank you. I don't have a costume yet, but I ould like to go for the entire 3 days.

I would like to go to the WonderCon. However, I would have to get a ride with someone (if for some reason that's not possible, I can take Amtrak). I would be willing to share in the cost of a room.

I don't have a full costume yet, but I am thinking of getting something together.

I'll have more details for you in the next week or two.

I suggest we bring this up at the next meeting. If I am not able to make it, will Rogue Leader, 2, or 4 please remember to mention it and get a head count of those wanting to go and whether they will be open to sharing rooms?

Hey, guys. Just wondering if you got your table yet. Both the SFFF and 501st are already on the WonderCon website listed as "exhibitors":

I think it'd be awesome if we could figure out room arrangements for W/C at the holiday party, or at least get a general idea of what we're doing.

From what AJ told me on the way home from the SVRF First Annual Life Day Celebration, Tionne Avalyn and Shasa are doing a girls room at W/C.

Sounds like I'll be joining you and AJ if thats okay, LDV (AJ is cool with it)? Oh yeah and I forgot to ask how the whole non-profit (read: FREE) booth deal for the SVRF was going, and how many members will it cover. Is it going to be unlimited or does W/C put a limit on the number of members registering non-profit vendors/exhibitors can have?

Oh yeah... AJ and LDV, are you coming in on Thursday or Friday? Avalyn had a really good point about check in time being 4pm and wanting to do stuff the first day at the con so she might be doing 4 days/3 nights from the 10th-13th instead of 11th-13th. Sounds like I might be able to make arrangements with Tina for that extra night if need be, since I'm likely to be riding shotgun (read: mooching a ride) to SF with her.

Okay, enough of my yapping and time to go back to work.

For our table, we only received two free exhibitor badges for people to get in early each day to set up the table before opening. Those two people would have to be the same each day, since they put your names on the badges. The rest of you will have to pay for 3-day badges at regular cost. So you'll have to decide on who gets the two exhibitor badges. You can have several people help you set up in addition to those two. But when you get there, you have to go to registration and request for temporary set-up badges (they're stickers) for your assistants to wear while setting up. When we set up, we had two cars, and 4 people total. When you park in the loading dock, show your table number when you check in (bring your paperwork), then the union guys unload your car and take it to your table.

On another note, we're still not sure if the 501st is getting a changing room or not yet. We might not know until maybe a couple of weeks before. So if any of you used it last time, and we don't get it this time, make preparations on changing somewhere else, like your car in the garage next door. I'll try to make arrangements for a room across the street at Metreon. But priorities would have to go the the 501st, since they have the bulkiest costumes. Oh, and we're still checking on possibilities for "Unity 2". :)

    Hope this helps, guys!

    Thanks!

That's good to know, since it was my understanding that we'd be able to get in free being a non-profit organization.

I'd say LDV, being Chapter Head, should get one of the freebie passes. The other probably fer Hawkie since she's our former rep. At first I assumed fees were going to be terrible, but it's only 35 dollars for three days so I could live without getting in for free although it'd certainly help!

The hard part is deciding which member(s) will watch the table during the photo shoots, and for Steve Sansweet's presentation. :(

I have missed Steve's presentation every year because I am always the one volunteering to watch the table during the fun things. Not this year boy-o! :D

I'll volunteer to watch the table during steves presentation so those who have not gone can go.

I'd love to be on escort duty since I should be in costume this year but I'll give it up to help out.

However I'll want use my babysitting credits for some other events.

I'm like the godfather...I do you a favor you do me a favor..later on I put a horse head in your bed...it all works out

Personally, I'm hoping (well, more like praying) that Natalie Portman makes a surprise appearance to promote her film, "V For Vendetta" so I can finally present her Rebel Legion Honorary Member plaque that I was denied giving her by her publicist at Comic-Con this year, despite Mary Franklin's efforts. :(

I hope she is there so you can give her the plaque. Stupid publicists.
Matt, you have a PM from me about a possible joint meeting before Wonder Con

Have you guys booked a hotel yet? If not, maybe you could try the Mosser Hotel across the street from the Marriott. It's smaller, and might be cheaper. Just a thought.

I think we're still working on that. Avalyn is our hotel coordinator as far as I know.
We also need to figure out who is getting the passes so that I know if I need to register and pay.

I think this calls for a meeting. But I really need our Fearless Leader to be back.

    Houston we have a problem.

Ok I sent in the fax application. Didn't really think about it much after that. I even forwarded the form to LDV and I believe he faxed it in again as well.

Well....it seems we fell through the cracks and we do NOT have a table at Wonder-con.

Now before anyone panics....don't worry I'll let you know when it's time to panic..this aint it.

We have an offer from the Browncoats to share some table space....this could actually be a great idea for us.

Donna has a sellers permit and perhaps our more TECH savy rogues can help them and they can do some pics with Firefly based backgrounds.

All in all this could be a good deal all around we can share some cost and we'd have NO trouble having the table manned at all times.

But these are just my thoughts...discuss...discuss.

    Here's the message I got:
Thanks for the quick reply. I haven?t received anything from the Sacramento Rogue Force for WonderCon. We?re out of fan tables at this time, but I can put them on the waiting list if they?d like.

Which means we probably all need to pay/volunteer to get in.

    *seriously trying not to panic*
I'll let you boys deal with what you want to do with whatever the Browncoats have to offer. I'm here if you need me and I'll man the table for a few hours one day.
