haha, true.. what about On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God? wink All of those books are teenage-girl-type books anyway. They're kind of like Bridget Jones's Diary for 15 year-olds.

But to stop the highjacknig... I read recently:

All the Harry Potter books minus this latest one.

I'm in the middle of Star Wars Dark Nest 1: The Joiner King... there is a connection that draws direct dialogue from ep II in there. Please someone here tell me they've read the NJO books so I can discuss this sequel with them.

I recently finished Hollywood vs. America (Michael Medved) and A Lost Lady (Willa Cather.) Yeah, they were school books, but they were both really good.. I hope to re-read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets soon, but that probably won't happen for a while. Why can't UT offer a Harry Potter class like Notre Dame???

Now reading: Star Wars Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen
The book picks up a year after the events of Dark Nest I. In just the first few chapters, we already have the true origins of the Dark Nest explained as well as seeing the scene from Episode III between Anakin and Padme after Obi-Wan had visited her.

The book also contains a preview of Outbound Flight by Timothy Zahn.

I just finished listening to Treason by Ann Coulter which I got to listen to on the trip to DragonCon. She goes a little too far in a couple of analogies, but otherwise it was a tremendous education in how the liberals/democrats had let Soviet spies into high government positions in the 40s and 50s and instead of being concerned with removing them, attacked one of the people who was responsible for exposing the spies, Sen. Joe McCarthy. Recently de-classified documents have revealed that everyone accused of being a spy by McCarthy, actually was a spy. The government kept evidence secret because they didn't want to reveal to the Soviets that they had broken their code. It also talks about how Reagan won the Cold War and how liberals/democrats refuse to give him credit.

I finished Dark Nest II as well. This book was a little easier to follow than the first as there were no big battles in confusing locations (0-g cave, asteroid field, etc.). Of course, it also seemed like more of a filler book between the first and third book than any real substantial story.

I like listening to and reading Anne Coulter. Sometimes she does push the envelope, but I've found that her points are hard for the libs to argue.
If you like her books, try these:

The Real America by Glenn Beck
The Enemy Within by Mike Savage
Will by G. Gordon Liddy
When I Was A Kid, It Was A Free Country by G.Gordon Liddy
Deliver Us From Evil by Sean Hannity
Complete Gentleman by Brad Miner

I've read all these and just finished The Boys of '98, the story of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
I'm starting a one now called, Sleuthing the Alamo, Davy Crockett's Last Stand and other mysteries of the Texas Revolution.

I just finished my first Hemingway book ever--The Sun Also Rises. It was.. interesting. Definitely an experience.. There are a ton of books I want to get from Amazon.. has anybody read any of these?

- Everything Bad Is Good for You: How Today's Popular Culture Is Actually Making Us Smarter by Steven Johnson
- Brainwashed : How Universities Indoctrinate America's Youth by Ben Shapiro
- Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel: Confessions of a Conservative College Professor by Mike S. Adams

I need to find some time so I can finish Star Wars and Philosophy... school and reading for fun just doesn't go together. sad

I was at Great Escape Saturday for their big sidewalk sale. The only SW item I got was the Star Wars Action Figure Archive. I did notice that they had a used copy of the Revenge of the Sith novel for under $10 (might have been 8 or 9). There is a lot of new non-fiction Star Wars out: Poster book, companion to the exhibit in Boston (Where Science Meets Imagination), and Inside the Worlds of ROTS were the most notable.

I bought and read teh Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen today. I have to disagree I think there was a story I just didn't care for the ending. It shared the probelm quite a few of the later NJO books had there was no defined ending ti sorta traield off in a kinda anti-climatic to be continued sort of way. But I loved the character development in the extended Skywalker/Solo family. Especialyl with one of my favorite characters Jacen Solo. I won't ruin it for anyone who might be inclinedto read it but I've folled this character and his sister and their friends since the his birth, through the Jedi Academy Trilogy, into Young Jedi Knight series, all through the NJO series, and now onward.
