"Don't try it Anakin, I have the high ground!" (since Force powers suddenly get nullified when such a phrase is invoked) - Obi-Wan Kenobi

Costume: Jedi Garb

Why, in the DVD 3-pack of the original 3 SW movies, is the ghost of Anakin young, but Yoda and Obiwan are still old???

Lucas had the final Jedi scene in ROTJ changed to put Hayden...oh I mean Anakin... in place of the older Anakin. But this wouldn't really make much sense even if you ignore the switch of actors itself. Obiwan dies, and his ghost looks exactly like him when he died down to the age. Yoda dies, and also looks exactly the same...though with Yoda, the hair is about the only thing that would be different (the difference between being 880 yrs old versus 900 yrs old probably isn't much). Yet Anakin dies in his mid 40s (give or take a year), but his ghost reverts to his 20s...hmmmmmm....

I agree. Even though GL gave an explanation for it:
"Anakin's spirit retained the image that he had when he was good, even though he redeemed himself by destroying the sith in the end."

I'm sorry, but if a scene doesn't make sense to anyone without the director having to explain something outside of the movie, then it probably shouldn't be in the movie.

Getting back to topic, I would have to say that the best costume in the worst scene would have to be both Padme's negligae in the scene on the terrace in EP3 as well as her black corset in the scene by the fire in EP2 (in agreement with Shannon). Its as if George wanted to distract the audience from the horrendous dialogue he wrote by dressing Natlie Portman in scantily clad outfits.

"I wish I could just WISH away my feelings, but I can't..."

"Its because I'm so in love with you."

No. Its because I'm so in love with YOU."

Perhaps Ben Kenobi was more correct than he thought when he said in ROTJ:
Your father was seduced by the dark side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I have told you was true... from a certain point of view.

Anakin Skywalker really did cease to exist when he turned to the Dark Side. So when he became a ghost, he went back to the point when he was still good. My theory. thinking

Ok, this sort of fits, but more along the lines of "Inappropriate costume change." On the Death Star when Han and Luke take off Trooper armor and return to the clothing they were wearing back on the Falcon. I think any of the 501sters here can confirm that it woudl have been stupid if not improbable to wear that under the bodyglove. And where the hell did they hide the other pairs of boots?

That is probably the only logical loophole that GL has on that one. applause However, wouldn't he have one robotic hand or one missing...that is the way he was??? rolling_eyes Also, he did redeam himself at the end, so wouldn't his last good image still be from his older age? idea If I were the other actor that had his face removed from a movie, I'D BE PISSED!!! I assume that he is dead.

I did think of another one though that is "Best costume in the worst scene".

The costume: Vader's first suit...I guess his only one. {Certainly one of the best costumes EVER!}

The scene: He has just been suited up, for the first time on the table. The table is being rotated to a standing position for the new cyborg. Still strapped to the table, Anakin asks the Emperor for Padme's condition. When he is told that he killed her, he breaks the metallic straps and screams.

The problem: Wasn't this in Frankinstein. The fresh corpse laying on the table. The doctor assembles the replacement parts, turns up the juice, and "It's alive!" And, yes, I know there were a few subtle differences, but it was still close enough. And since nearly every sci-fi movie/tv-series/cartoon/etc... uses this cliche, I thought it was pretty cheesy.

i'm going to have a dyslexic moment and change the topic around. wink i think one of the *worst* outfits in what could've been a nice scene, was when Anakin came back from landing Grevous' ship and padme's hiding off in the shadows...

"ani....i'm pregnant..."
"Oh, i'm sorry, did you say something?....i was distracted by the cinibuns on your head."

good grief. doh!

as for the best costume in the worst scene.....hmm...

My choice is either the Black Corset Gown OR the Rainbow Dress.. Once again it's the "We can't be together, Anakin... so I'm going to tempt you by wearing a sexy (in this case backless..) dress" thing. That and Anakin's ramble-y spiel about sand.. Ugh. doh!

I have one that is slightly off topic...more like "worse costume, <whatever> scene."

In Ep. III, once Palpatine calls for Order 66 to be carried out, has anyone noticed that the Twi'Lekk Jedi woman seems to have missed the Jedi dress code? Look at all the other Jedi including masters, knights, padawans.... She looks more like a "Jedi of the Night" rather than a "Jedi Knight".

I know that some of them are dancers like in Jabba's Palace, but are they all??? Is that the standard dress code for ALL Twi'Lekk women or something? Bid Fortuna (a male) certainly didn't dress like that, so it can't be everyone. Even if it was, wouldn't the Jedi order require something more reasonable and proper from a Jedi?

Well, Twi'lek females are often sold as slaves. I think a Twi'lek female in standard clothing would stand out more. Many Jedi, mostly female, are never seen in standard Jedi clothing: Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli, and Bariss Offee. Their clothing is just more conservative. In the Dark Nest series, there is another Twi'lek who is described as wearing clothing similar to Aayla. Since Twi'lek use their lekku for communication, you couldn't really wear a head-covering. Next time I see Amy Allen, I'll ask her about it.

Oh, I understand not wearing the hood, but the rest? thinking I'm not upset about it, I just think it is funny that ALL the other Jedi are "covered" more...as you said, conservatively. Bariss has a similar outfit to Luke in RotJ. The others may not have exact robes, like Obi-wan or Qui-gon, but they do have "conservative" clothing. confused

In fact idea , to tie in Padme's gown that others mentioned, isn't it odd that Jedi, who are not supposed to have romantic relationships, would dress like the Twi'lekk Jedi? Padme may have been tempting Anakin, but the Twi'lekk Jedi is begging to have "the reched hive of scum and villiany" hit on her. {Perhaps she has a different set of Jedi mind tricks???}
