I'm getting a 30 GB iPod and the regular edition of Dressing a Galaxy. I managed to get the iPod at a lower price on campus, but I walked in on my dad at Davis Kidd when he was getting me the book. I hate finding Christmas presents. But at least I haven't seen inside of it yet, so it'll still be a surprise.

So that's who actually bought a copy of that book there besides me.
I don't really know what I want. I think about 2 weeks of having nothing to do would be the best present, but I would settle for an xbox 360.

Yeah.. my poor dad. He had said something about getting it but then was waiting until I had wandered off to actually buy it. I walked right in on him picking it up.. he looked so sad when he said, "You weren't supposed to see this." But it's not like he hadn't already told me about it. I'm dying to look through it, but that's the only surprise I have left, so I won't until Christmas.

Nearly anything Star Wars would be great. But my family has never caught on to that yet....10+ years with an obvious interest and not a one of them has figured it out. {They may have even noticed that my gifts to them are always in their fields of interest...because I know they will like them.} But they always go for functional...things like appliances and other stuff. They're certainly nice gifts too, don't get me wrong.
The funniest thing is that they will make comments to me that I was hard to buy for...me??? About 12 years ago, they got me the boxed set CD-soundtracks to all the Star Wars movies (at the time). But that was it. Nothing SW related since.
If this is a "what would you want to get" list, I would love to find or get the SW Lego Star Destroyer that is supposed to be out. It is huge!!! I also have most of the SW Lego sets. But that one has never been in the stores (that I have ever seen) for me to grab it myself either.
I would be happy to get anything Star Wars and/or Babylon 5 (collectibles or other items).

You can buy it at the online LEGO store. Considering it's $300, you can't be surprised that no one carries it. The Death Star II is also available on their site.

Thanks for the info. They were out of stock last time I checked, but that was quite a while ago. But, I'm still surprised someone doesn't carry it...at least one or two. I've seen more expensive things -- even for toys.
Wal-Mart carried several...like a whole back wall...of a pewter(sp?) or brass die-cast metal Millenium Falcon that was very close scale to the cheaper plastic one for the figures. I think I saw it in the Franklin/Cool Springs store for $299. it was in a 2' cubed box. It was much heavier as expected than the plastic counterpart. It looked like the 3-3/4" figures could fit in it. It was also well-detailed from the box. Since they didn't have one on display, I thought I'd get it later -- but it disappeared. I'd much rather have a Star Destroyer though, Lego or pewter as long as it is fairly good size.
Thanks Obi_TN

They are back-ordered until March. The only place I've ever seen it are at CIII and at the LEGO store at Disney. Considering how poorly the UCS X-Wing sold at retail, I can't blame them for not carrying this. I imagine you might be able to find it at FAO Schwartz or some other upscale toy store.
Nobody is really sure why Wal-Mart was selling the Code 3 Millenium Falcon or why they disappeared so quickly. Perhaps someone wanted to buy them on-line and the stores shipped them back. Anyway, I have one of these and you are way off on the scale. The falcon didn't come with figures, but the Republic Gunship does. Those figures are probably not more than an inch tall and I think the Falcon is even a smaller scale. Maybe the scale of the micro machines figures. The next Code 3 item is Darth Vader's TIE Fighter. No word of a Star Destroyer in that line (Luke's X-Wing, Slave I, Millenium Falcon, Republic Gunship, AT-ST).
Good luck with the Star Destroyer. I'd be happy to help put it together. On your own, it should take about 8-10 hours.

Thanks for the scoop. One reason I didn't buy it was I couldn't tell what the scale was for real. The package made it look as though (for the Falcon, I never saw the others...) the 3-3/4" figures could fit. Glad I didn't spend the money on it. At least I know what to expect with the Lego sets. I'd like the Blockade Runner, too, but would prefer the Star Destroyer first and foremost.
I don't know what it is, but they seem to slack off on the capital ships. Maybe they'll get wise and realize that there would be a market, at least for collectors.
Is there anything special on your list, Obi_TN?

My only "madness" would be spending an hour online trying to pre-order the Sideshow Toys Exclusive 12" Anakin Skywalker, but that won't be out until the Spring.
I already know I am getting the fictional Darth Vader: Rise of the Dark Lord, so my wants would be Star Wars non-fiction books: Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels, The Star Wars Poster Book, and Star Wars - Where Science Meets Imagination. I wouldn't mind getting the latest wave of Star Tours figures, but my aunt hasn't been able to find them or the Yoda/Mickey 2-pack.

I used to keep up with all the new collectibles, but I haven't for a few years. Didn't even know they had a Yoda/Mickey 2 pack??? Either none of this stuff makes it to the stores where I shop, or I am not fast enough to see them. Oh well, what can you do.
