Just got back from seeing it. I cried walking out, it was sooo good. I was Kylie's age when I first read the books/saw the cartoon version on TV. It was like being little again.
Have any of you seen the TV version from I guess the 70's ???

I need a box of tissues now. Seriously.

The BBC's version was in 1988. I remember watching it when I was a kid and thinking how great it was. Now I watch it again and cringe at the acting (especially Lucy). I liked this version a lot better.

It did pretty well at the box office, so I'm hoping the producers go ahead with "Prince Caspian" soon. (before the actors get too much older)

I've not yet seen it. I guess I should read the book before seeing it.

The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe was Awesome! Definitely one of the best films of 2005. The actress who played the witch did a fantastic job. BTW, is that the same woman who played the Borg Queen in First Contact?

I remember reading the Chronicles of Narnia when I was in grade school. They are a pretty quick read. Although, it takes a little bit to get used to the way C.S. Lewis writes. Its done of course with an English dialect so there are lots of what appears to be run-on sentences connected with commas.

No. The woman who played the White Witch is Tilda Swinton. The Borg Queen was played by Alice Krige. You may recognize Tilda Swinton from Constantine (played "Gabriel") or Vanilla Sky. Of course, I never saw either of those movies, but someone else may have.

I would agree with those who think that Narnia was one of the best movies of 2005. I don't really go out to see many movies, but I saw it with a few friends and was pleased. I was also pleased at how much of the story I remember reading several years ago. Other than a few CGI wholes and a few other minor things, it was still quite entertaining. And compared to most of the other movies out, it was even better. I'm glad I saw it in the theatre.

that's awesome! i hope they make more in the series. i always thought it'd be cool to do the Magicians Nephew. which is "really" the first in the series. wink but we all know how that goes.
"it's the 4th, but really the 1st..." haha....

i remember reading those too, at a very young age.

and yeah, his writing sometimes gets crazy....i think i was trying to read his Screwtape Letters, or whatever it's called, and had to stop..... lol
