why does your name have a line thru it??
YES. it was VERY cruel. they kept saying it was snowing here, but we looked out and it wasn't for the longest time. i think a flock of birds few over later  , cuz we woke up and there was a little snow. 
and yes, it is "foofing" as we speak.

Considering I've had to work the midnight shift all week during the expected 4-6 inches of snow, I'm quite happy with the results.

Considering what we normally get...dirty, muddy looking snow that only serves to melt and re-freeze on the roads...I think what we did have Saturday and Sunday was pretty nice. It was actually sizeable flakes...a good dusting. Even getting it off the windows was easy. All I had to do was lightly brush it off -- no scraping required at all. I would love to have seen more snow just like that. Would have made great snowmen and snowballs if there was enough of it. It kind of teased us all weekend.
Though, Hama, I can understand how the police would think it is a headache. Nothing worse than having to deal with morons-on-ice. It doesn't take much for some people in the area to crash a vehicle. Don't think some understand you have to drive UP a hill normally and gently go down it -- not the other way around. And tailgating people and slamming on the breaks when the stop won't help any on ice.... I can only imagine how many stupid things you've heard to explain wrecks.
But I do think it's funny how fast schools are closed. S...N...O...(schools are closed)...W! I also think it is funny how fast bread, milk and TP disappear from the stores. Of course this state doesn't usually deal with much snow, so the budget and experience they have aren't great. The ice on the roads is usually limited to a few little spots, but I think they determine school closings based on bus routes. You don't want a school bus packed with kids to slide around/off the road. So I guess better safe than sorry.

I live out in the sticks,..and there was absolutley no reason schools couldn't have been open and on time!

I didn't notice any ice on the roads either, but maybe one deserted road with a tire's width of ice that made them skitish...
