considering coming up to the Rights of Spring music fest thingy at Vandy & most of the hotels that describe themselves as "at Vanderbilt" are either booked or amazingly overpriced. any locals out there that can recommend a decent hotel close by? happy

How close to Vandy do you want to stay?

Bellevue (West Nashville) has a Microtel and a Hampton right off I-40 at exit 196 (HWY 70-South). As long as traffic cooperates, you could take 70-South straight to Vandy. 70-S becomes Old Harding, West End, then Broadway around Vandy. Or, take I-40 east to I-440 bypass to the first exit...which is West End.
