Thanks for the update and the great price FSF1!
I caught the interview with Dave on Nova yesterday, he's quite a character and still going strong at 68!
One further question: Will the lads sign things as part of the $60 entrace fee?

For the entry fee you will definitely have the opportunity to obtain an autograph. The actors are charging for their photos for autographing as well as for your own item. They have some great photos though.

I still can't believe I missed out on David Prowse and Peter Mayhew on Merrick and Rosso! The one day where I had to be at work at the crack of dawn!
And I e-mailed
this
to Merrick and Rosso a week ago without even realising that SW actors would be on their show the next week.

The 501st LEgion were there both days in costume it was so great to finally meet our Commander and Chief Dave Prowse and Honorary member Peter Mayhew the biggest buzz was providing an escort and honour guard for them as they went on stage sat & sun...

What else happened? What sort of events did they have over the two days?

Tell you the truth nothing much,
Dave and Peter gave a talk each day and they had an auction each day, plus they played a few old fan movies..
A guy from one of our Garrisons in the states was here on holidays and happend to bring his armour with him trooped with us on saturday at the con and was not impressed at all compared to what he was used too price and content wise..
As I was told last week apparently $60 is cheap for an aussie con..
Bascially we where there for 2 reasons only to meet Dave and Peter and to wear our costumes and spread the word about the 501st..
Even if the con was crap I got to meet and escort Dave and Peter while in costume I'm happy..
That's my 2 imperial credits worth...

I guess there isn't much else they could have done besides showing fan films. Maybe gaming comps (like Jedi-Con 02), costume-making demonstrations, and toy stalls. Is there anything else they could have done to make it a more memorable con?

For a 2 day con there wasn't much happening, everything was in one room I could see all the stands for our table.. There was 3 or 4 retailers there that was it..
I'm not the only person who thinks we didnt get our moneys worth for the weekend..
Compare it to supanova and it was no contest.

Keep in mind that Supernova had a whole lot of guests and was general fandom rather than just Star Wars.
I think some of the Skyforce staff were there as well, I'll ask em today what they thought of it.

They weren't overly impressed either. They said that the crew had put a lot of effort into organising the event, but it wasn't great. A little too expensive for ordinary fans.

thats what I thought I had heaps of people interested in going but when they found out the tickets prices they thoguht it was too over priced even with the quality of the guests that were there..
A lot of younger people I spoke said they couldnt afford $75 a day to go..
Thats where I think supanova is good even though it caters for more than just Star Wars the cheap ticket prices means they are not pricing the younger generation out of it..
Despite the complaints we have we had a ball and would probably do it all again next week if it was on again although I'd say we wouldnt go both days this time..
