Recital!

I will be having a voice recital, it looks like the date has been settled on February 10th or whatever the Saturday is in the evening. It'll be held at Purchase College, in the music building. It'll last roughly 30 minutes and we'll be going out for food/drinks/celebratory stuff afterwards. This is my first voice recital, anyone who can show up, PLEASE DO! Let me know

Thanks Tim! Tice, I'll be singing 3 Italian art songs, 2 German Lieder, 1 French art song, 1 English art song and an aria from The Marriage of Figaro :-)

My gosh, that's a heck of a lot to recite. Are they also in Italian, German and French??
Sounds fantastic but a lot of hard work, you must be slightly nervous too?

Yep, all in the original languages! Lots and lots of work, and YES I'm very nervous!!! I'm looking forward to it though...I'm sure once I get on stage I'll be fine, but until then *biting nails*

LOL thanks Tim. I just found out I'm going to have a DVD made of it as well...Jeremy has a camcorder and someone will be recording it. So all those who won't be making it, will be forced into a room, sat down and forced to watch it LOL

Original languages too 
I'm trying to learn German and I'm really struggling with some of the pronounciations, so double good luck from me, lol.

German singing pronunciation is quite a bit different than actually speaking it, and I did have some problems originally...right now my biggest problem is trying to memorize all the songs...I have all the first verses down no problem, except for one song (teacher pulled out another italian song and said "this is what I want you to sing at your recital instead of pieta signore" and me goes "WHAT!?") so I have about 2.5 weeks to memorize the second verses of a bunch of songs EEP!
Hehe don't worry I'll be sending you that DVD muahahahaha

W00t! Less than a week to go! I had a GREAT voice lesson today and I'm getting really excited. My dress is turning out great and I have a hairstyle all figured out, I surprised Jeremy when I showed him he's like "it's GIRLY!" my reply was "WELL DUH I'M A GIRL!" tee hee. Oh to those who are actually making it, the room has been changed from 0001 to 0078...apparently my teacher wanted a bigger room, so I get the orchestra room. To those who are NOT making it, you WILL be forced to watch it :-P This is really a big deal for me, it's my first voice recital and my first solo recital in many many many years.

Rescheduled to do massive amounts of snow coming our way...new day is Feb 25th 7:30p. There is public transportation, and I can pick others up if you're willing to come. Yes I know this is the same weekend as NYCC, but what could I do?
